2JG
All I know boss kits have been covered many times over the years here, but I can't find the exact answer for my question anywhere using search. Basically, my 96' Supra had an airbag and the previous owner put an aftermarket non-airbag steering wheel and boss kit on it, but it looks like the boss kit had been butchered to make it fit around the Supras wiring plug that sits on top. I want to get the right boss kit for the car because the new Nardi wheel I have has a different stud pattern than the Momo one. So, do I buy an airbag or non-airbag boss kit? Thanks for any help. Scott
I would remove the half arsed install and do a proper install with an airbag model boss kit
2JG
This is exactly what I am wanting to do now that I know a bodged job was done. So I still need to buy an airbag boss even thought the aftermarket wheel is non-airbag.

Yes, the car still expects an airbag to be present so it will need a way of tricking the ECU into thinking there is one. You may find that the previous owner or installer has just removed the bulb warning of any airbag faults (big no no) or may have bypassed it by another method. If you go with the non-airbag you will be back to square 1 and will have to do the same install that you are ripping out. Make sure that your insurer knows you don't have an airbag, some insurers won't touch you so if you don't tell them you will be virtually driving without insurance.
