Sharpie
Hi, Got RLTC fitted at TorqueIC on Friday and have to say that Zadeek (sp?) did a good job working outside in these freezing conditions - Cheers man! He split the box and fitted it direct to the dash and left the Comms cable hidden in the passenger foot well for easy access. (Photo' below) A BIG Thanks to Terminator who has helped me all the way through this process (For FREE – I thought this had long been lost!) and have installed the dat file today. I did do a little testing as it was a little damp in some areas around where I live and the new settings are great!!!! You can feel it kick in so fast, while still having power and control of the car. However, I do need to get used to it now over the next few weeks. If you did not know, I had a smash in November due to not thinking before using my right foot off a roundabout and so the car was off the road for 4 weeks while Toyota got the parts in.....anyway, when I got her back, I had lost confidence in driving in the wet or even damp roads and so was driving like there was ice on the road which, I thing could have caused an accident in it’s self, if I had carried on like that. I had lost the grin off my face for the first time while owning the soop...not happy! So, RLTC was for me! Following the initial testing, I can safely say that I can drive normal again in the wet I did not get RLTC so that I can drive like a T*at in any weather conditions as this is not my style (exc the moment of impact) So, am very happy that I have learned from this crash, albeit the hard way and have regained the grin factor that the soop is so good at providing. There was a lot of talk on this bbs about stock TC being dangerous and people disagreeing that it is the driver who is not taking care but, IMO the RLTC is far more responsive and superior technology which is a must for any soop owner. Therefore, I believe that RLTC would have saved me but, I would not have learned anything! So, IMO the RLTC makes the soop a safer car to drive no matter what type of driver you are and is a must for all soop owners. Hopefully, people who are new to soop’s can learn from my experience here ? I hope they do! So, enjoy the photo’s The Black knob next to the Green Launch button and the red LED. Bobbeh
Nice Pete, how much did it set up back overall? Still take it easy ish in the wet, you're not invincible! Dont want you wrecking your beauty! (/old woman mode off) Looks like a nice set up, so did they take the standard box apart and place the knobs in different positions, or is the box simply the other side of the dash? Hi Bobbeh, The RLTC unit costs around £600 (£725 from RL) + Fitting 4-5hrs & Vat. (RL charge £250 for 1/2 day or £400 for full day fitting) & Vat. I did not pay anything near what RL charge I did not ask about how they did the dash, but know it has been done on a couple of soops by TorqueIC as they were in the workshop at the time I just need a stencil kit or to be honest I think I will get a custom sticker made up to put around the knob - White on black methinks to match the rest of the dash. I guess Leon is closer to you though ?
Dragonball
Hi Pete and welcome back to enjoying the soop! What a difference eh? Phil - you coming up to SP on 26th? If you are any chance of bringing up the laptop to upload the new DAT files (haven't done mine yet) Cheers Paul

JamesG
Pete, as you've also got the green launch button on the dash, what does it do? James.
ad500
Ive never driven a soop without RL as my current car is my first and it was already fitted. In 6 months of ownership ive never had any scary moments in the wet or even in the recent icy conditions. The back did come out a fair bit today for some reason when i hoofed it i second, very contollable though.

James, see http://www.racelogic.co.uk/launch.htm as they can put it better than me. I do not use this as I have an auto.
JamesG
Yeah, I was wondering why the button wasn't just removed. Does it do anything if you press it? James.

B1SEP
Im glad you are pleased, "Zeca" our new mechanic is working out extremely well indeed, after our last mechanic made a few silly mistakes its refreshing to have a really top class mechanic on board; Zeca's speciality is building engines - which is handy as we begin building Ryans 1300bhp supra next week !!!!
