Razak Posted February 3, 2011 Share Posted February 3, 2011 I dont have any pictures due to my phone being useless now its dark, but i have a very small rust spot on the rear of the car, on a part surrounding the tail lights...looks like the paint has been scratched off...maybe though removal of tail lights. Whatever caused it doesn't really matter though, but what is the best way to deal with such a small spot, barely a millimetre spot but i know it needs to be sorted sooner rather then later. Rob Dublin Posted February 7, 2011 Share Posted February 7, 2011 If it's only a small spot I'd think a paint chip kit and very small brush would do the job. Build up the layers slowly then t-cut back. Won't be a perfect repair, for that you'd need to respray the area. Unless it's not lifting the paint being so small I doubt you'd need to chemially treat the rust. I could be wrong. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Dnk Posted February 7, 2011 Share Posted February 7, 2011 You need to remove the rust totally before you use any touch up or it will spread under the paint, a small dot on the surface could be a bigger area once the paint is removed, pics would really help.
