SupraMan Mk4
Hi guys, Its my birthday tomorrow and some friends and I are planning a weekend away in Reading this weekend and were wondering if you had any recommendation on places to visit during a lager filled weekend. None of us have been before and dont want to end up in a rough old dive bar when we are only going to be out for a good time. Any info will be great. Cheers, Paul
Parry_10
few good clubs/bars are sakuras, rewind, walkabout, yates's, dogma and if your looking to just go to more of a pub then purple turtle, weatherspoons and few others are down the same stretch of road, all depends what sort of night you are into...reading is pretty lively on a fri and sat night

SupraMan Mk4
A weekend away in Reading? What was 2nd prize...2 weekends? Haha, No nothing like that, a few of us are QPR fans and the game against Readign coinsides with my birthday tomorrow so thought we'd make the most of it. JustGav
Home? (I work in Reading) Some of the places I've frequented on a work basis. Zero Degrees.. Honeypot (although gone now) Matrix (Long gone....) RG1 (Long gone....) in summary, somewhere else EEEK : Did you say Reading game? CRAP going to have leave work early so at least I can get out of the car park before they block all the roads. I'm not sure if they still do it, but I wouldn't advise coming in QPR gear as the police usually group fans and move them on and out of Reading. Some of us will have replica shirts but we are staying the night so wil dip back to the hotel to get changed into our clubbing clobber before hitting the tiles. Wouldnt wanna ruin the QPR shirt........come to think of it, its probably the most expensive shirt I own. :s lol. Yeah the game is a late kick off tomorrow 7:45 IIRC. supra_aero
I seem to remember Reading nights out being full of easy girls (and I'm being extremely polite here).
Lukeyboy2k
If not familiar with a night out in Reading, I suggest something along the lines of: Start in either Ivory Lounge (used to be Bar 38) on waterfront near Vue cinema, maybe go to zero degrees. Then go to Friar street where you will find Pitcher & Piano, Cape, Walkabout (if that's your thing) and Yate's (most of the clunge will go here before the clubs). As for clubs/places to finish, there are: 1) Revolution - normally house type music in here, usually the best girls though. If you want to get in I advise going there early (i.e. before 22:00). Situated between Friar Street and train station. 2) Q Bar - mixed music. A fairly young crowd nowadays..... used to be really good, but not my bag anymore. Next to Pitcher & Piano. 3) Rewind - two floors. Probably the most popular and "safe choice". Mixed music, talent OK. On Friar Street. 4) Sakura - mostly house type music (whenever I've been). First impressions are that it is quite trendy, but never as good as it should be. Good bar downstairs, upstairs OK. Nice girls. Back near zero degrees. 5) Dogma - mixed music. Similar to Sakura. Only been once and it was Hed Kandi, so I don't know what it is normally like. Got invited there by a couple of girls with fake boobs. . Near Sakura. 6) Purple turtle - never been, but been told this is where the Indie/alternative people hang out. Next to Sakura. 7) Mangos (sp?) - never been, but supposed to be like Po Na Nas. Between Sakura area and Friar Street. 8) Sugar Lounge - Lappy bar
JustGav
8) Sugar Lounge For some reason I do see that one a lot on the entertainment expenses as well (And I'm not in finance)
