Neil-NA
Well after 14 years of working for the same company (since the day I left school) I have decided to apply for a new job. Now this is only the second time in my life I have had to write a CV, tbh I'm totally clueless. How much detail should I go into about the job I do now, what I've done in the past, hobbies and general stuff about me. I could just write pages but I somehow don't think that will impress, is short and sweet the best way to go? Anyone here recently employed someone? Sorry to sound pathetic but I don't want to lose this opportunity.
clapyohandz
Personal stuff get in last. The clearer the better, I always look for someone's abilities first. Work experience, tasks involved, problem solving. Second, I look at the education even though this is not my top priority. I always like to read the cover letters attached to it ; but it is not always meaningful. By the way, I run a real estate business so this might not be your field
Havard
Neil I'm at risk of redundancy and actually going on a Self Marketing Workshop on Monday that covers this.....happy to have a look at it for you. I have done CVs for people in the past as well Vicki
neo2810
No more than 2 pages. Keep it brief and to the point. Have a look online for CV templates, plenty of decent free ones.
