Question for the engine builders

I've just been having a look on Supraforums and in the for sale section is a built stroker kit by Sound Performance. It's a 3.2 stroker kit but is advertised as being built in an N/A block so the oil pressure would be higher due to it not having oil squirters.

Now my questions are, why would they want to use an N\A block. Are the squirters a benefit to living the bores and would it effect the oil pressure that much.

Thanks

John

Do the squirters not aim under the bottom of the piston rather than the bores? It seems the Yanks build all the high HP engines with NA blocks as they are better. Obviously only difference being the squirters. Depends is someone on here is willing to do a test with 2 identical blocks, and heads, 1 with and 1 without squirters!

Interesting read on the other thread, i guess i can see the point in not wanting to use oil squirter's, however the oil pressure could be changed by running different relief valve springs, as the most loadings are going to be at higher RPM anyway.

In any case, what doesn't make sense is why they just don't run external oil pumps, like they do on the big power nitro engines.
