ManwithSupra
In light of fuel prices increasing at an exponential rate, Increases on VAT and fuel duty, Inflation going through the roof and banks looking at increasing interest rates they now want to introduce a UK wide average speed camera system to lock us down even more.... http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/02022011/36/new-inescapable-speed-cameras-0.html This country sucks bigtime. sdistc
Nothing a systematic "civil disobedience" approach can't fix... can't take photos if the lens is spraypainted.

Matt H
However bad you think it is here, it's far worse in other countries. I don't think it's about this country going down the pan, I think it's about the entire world starting to go down the pan. Unless we can change our dependencies soon, speed cameras will probably be the last thing we need to worry about.

BazzaAlpine
Hang on, so they are basically saying that you could leave one stretch of average cameras on, say, the a13 and then not hit another camera till the ones on the a14 and they would work out the average speed I'd been doing for that whole stretch? I really don't like the sound of that. It's a pain in the butt already having to glance at your speedo every couple of seconds. Imagine the stress of a 2 hour journey like that. Drive at 70 through the camera. Do 150 for half the journey. Stop at a services for a bit. Carry on and do 70 at the next camera. Not so bad

marc_p
Or remove your front numberplate , you may get a £30 fine if the police pull you, but average speed cameras can't monitor you. But yeah, if your a fan of car's, England is not a good place to live, I want to move to the states or Canada, just waiting for an opportunity to come up. If you're thinking of moving to either for the cars I think you may be sorely disappointed. Choose your destination very carefully
Thorin
I've heard they're planning on banning cars all together and forcing everyone to take the bus. IT'S AN OUTRAGE!!1!
Dnk
Most places in the states are worse aren't they ? you cant use the outside lane on some interstates unless theres 2 of you in the car + the 55mph limit + how many rds actually have bends in them

Guest GT twinturbo
In norway the fuel pric is: 1.43£ 1 Liter 95 octane 1.70£ 1 Liter 98 octane 1.40£ 1 liter Diesel. and the speeding ticket is 870£ if you have 115km\h in a 80km\h sone. and you get 2 dot`s on your driving license (max 8 then you lose it... 3-6 months) so if you love driving cars... don`t move to Norway...
