Charlotte
My sister is getting married in July and she need an official (I say official since I offered to use my disposable and she said I could be her unofficial lady) photographer. Does anyone know someone who is handy with a camera? I think all that 'stand together in a row' stuff is pretty pants so I think she should have someone that takes a slightly different shot. Recommends would be welcome, thanks
JustGav
I know a pro-photographer (read expensive) in the area if you need one (Neale James ex radio 1 blokey)
garetheves
I'm doing my second wedding in a few months :-) first one was for a friend at work and I was an unofficial photog and printed the day photos off for her, put in an album and took them back for the evening do so she could see them. Did it as a present. The one in a few months is for a family friend.
Lbm
It's a tricky one Charlotte. Some people who are handy with a camera may well do a great job, but I feel it's a big day to mess up. There's no going back if they don't get the shots. Relatives and friends will no doubt be taking shots any way. Also, there's that simple thing of placing a disposable camera on each table at dinner, so her guests could be very creative/silly etc... For me, I'd probably hire a pro, given I work along side them every week-end in the band. Also it's not just the taking of the photos. Perhaps some tasteful post processing will be involved on the PC and then there's the final presentation of the photos too. It's the same as hiring a band who play down the Ferret & Nosebag for £150. It seems like a good idea at the time, but then when you realize the dance floor's been empty for the whole evening...with guest running for cover with blood pouring out of their little guesty ears...that 'light bulb' moment, you-will-have Ok, I'll do it for a bag of nuts
Charlotte
I did actually mean a pro - sorry 'handy with a camera' was probably the wrong turn of phrase I'm not looking for a cheap and cheerful person that's going to do a rubbish job. I just want her to have someone really good because I think it's important. This is one of my favs Julia Boggio
