Josh
I bought the 2100 points along with CoD: Black Ops when it came out. I entered the details in the "redeem code" tab on Xbox for the first time yesterday and it kept saying the code is invalid. I've tried entering any numbers/letters that could be wrong as numbers/letters they might be in loads of combinations and nothing is working. Anyone had this problem before and how did you resolve it? I can't find a definitive answer online. Any help is greatly appreciated as I want the new Black Ops online maps. Josh
Give the helpline a call mate and go through it with them! I saw someone say that but they said when they phoned them, they were told to send them an email with the details and they'd receive a call back. They had to wait a month for them to call back then they got a new number of the phone. Thanks though Where did you buy the points card from? Have you used it already!??! I bought the card for a Tesco near me on the 9th November when Black Ops came out. I've only just scratched it off and tried it for the first time. lol.. Josh you tool There's a decdicated support number for Microsoft and you post on a car forum... ?? Lol, tool I thought someone here may have had this happen to them. I'll try Microsoft! Josh
does the voucher expire? Nah, only MS points that are given as prizes can expire. The ones you buy never do.
TubbyTwo
MS xbox support are usually pretty good, i contacted them middle of last year about removing my card details from my account which they did for me (as i wanted to buy the subscription cards instead) and i had a call back the next day and it was sorted. and they emailed me a code for 1 months free gold live access. I logged it though the email help system through the online xbox 360 site.
Josh
I'm on the phone to a nice Irish chap at the mo'. Apparently when I first registered my Xbox, I put my country down as USA. He said the code I gave him is all ready in use so maybe someone got it on one of those MS point generators. He's gone to see if he can just add 2100 points to my Gamertag
SupraDan24
Microsoft are usually pretty good Josh, i imagine they'll just reinberse you the points. When they do, add me, i'll give you a little slap up on COD GT: TUx I Logic I
Josh
Apparently, as I registered my Xbox at a US address, Xbox Live Gold Membership prepaid cards will work but any points I buy in the UK won't work on my console. He said the details have now been locked in and there's no way to change them to a UK address. The only thing I can do it to set up a new Gamertag at a UK address and either transfer over the remaining Gold membership or wait till it's up and set a new 'tag up. Anyone want to buy 2100 points? SupraDan24
Can you not just buy points straight through the Xbox, would that not work?
Josh
Can you not just buy points straight through the Xbox, would that not work? I think what I did was when I set up my Xbox online it kept asking for State and Zip code so I just put my address down as "12 ****** Road, Beverley Hills, 90210" because I couldn't find anywhere that would take a UK address or anywhere to change countries. I can buy points on Xbox Live but I have to buy them in $ with a credit card registered at a US address. Son of a b!tch!
Josh
There is a link to change your region, but only to regions you prevously couldn't register in like South Africa and Poland. Looks like I'll have to set up a new Gamertag or just sell the points to someone and forget about it.
TubbyTwo
Speak to MS mate and ask them to change your region lol
SupraDan24
Selling the points will only be a short term fix though mate, what happens next time you want points. I'd create a new Tag if it was me and be done with it.
Josh
Selling the points will only be a short term fix though mate, what happens next time you want points. I'd create a new Tag if it was me and be done with it. I've all ready got 2 tags as I didn't register for Live until like a year after getting my Xbox and didn't realise you could register the Live on an existing Gamertag. So I've got my original 'tag with loads of XP on and the 'tag I'm using now with hardly any XP but lots of Xbox Live achievements. Not being able to change your location is stupid. Damn Microsoft! I think I'll just set a new Gamertag up and ask Microsoft to transfer my 11 months of Xbox live over to it. Thanks for the help, guys
