Guest 2JZ Dan
Hi Guys I'm toying with fitting a Viper V10 engine into my Supra (just happen to have one at work). Just wondering happens to have an empty engine bay that I could measure or if someone could measure for me? I basically want to make sure it will fit before I remove mine Cheers Dan
johnny g
It's been tested before. Too wide.

Hope someone can measure up for you (maybe PM keron as he breaks these so might have one with no engine fitted at his place?) and there is enough room. A Viper V10 powered Supra would be quite something!! Make sure you do a build thread if it will go mate as I'm sure lots of us on here would be interested! Best of luck with it! johnny g
would it fit if the front was space framed. Probably. But it'd be nose heavy IMO.

mwilkinson
Surely the engine bay measurements must be on the forum somewhere. This can't be the first time its been asked for. (Off he goes for a search)
garethr
How does the width of the V10 compare with the width of the Chevy V8s? There are Supras fitted with the Chevy Small Block and LS, and it's still a 90 degree pushrod engine, so it should be a similar width, shouldn't it? Guest 2JZ Dan
it is wider than a chevy V8, but I do have block hugger manifolds where as the Viper doesn't have these. I had them made/modified for me

Graham S
I have the engine out of mine. I can go get measurements if you tell me where you'd like it measured !
Guest 2JZ Dan
main measurements would be:- Between the chassis rails Between the Steering column and opposite chassis rail Slam panel to bulkhead at gearbox height (top of box) From front subframe to bonnet line That would be a start
