ronttuk Posted January 31, 2011 Share Posted January 31, 2011 I aquired an air box to replace the HKS system on my UK spec but the clips are broken has anyone managed a successful repair of an air-box with broken clips I have a few ideas but wondered if anyone has done a better job. pics if possible please. evinX Posted February 1, 2011 Share Posted February 1, 2011 Ive repaired a damaged headlight where the clip bits broke of, go down to halfords, get some mesh for £2, get the solder iron out, shape the mesh all around the clip and unit, do the top first then the bottom, use the iron to sink the mesh into both sides of the plastic, rejoining them...then get a takeaway tub, break it up, light the plastic up and let the plastic drip over the mesh, itll go black, ones thats dry and done you sould be able to pick the whole unit up by the broken clip without it breaking:) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Assuming you still have the bit that broke off you could drill a couple of very small holes for wire pins (gives the strength) then just glue the part back on.
