jackso11
as above. I want a VERY cheap car to use as a run around. Not bothered on the condition just as long as it runs

jackso11
I got one now, a civic Lsi for £285 I got it very cheap from a badly written ebay ad and poor photos. Think I could get £500-600 if I spruce it up, might do that and get something a little nicer....like an old capri
supra_aero
Following on from Jackso's thread I need a runabout. Got a budget of £1000 or so. Must be economical to run and insure and look fairly decent. No Ford KAs/106s/polos/fiestas and tiny cars like that. I'm 6'3 and 28 and don't want a student looking car. Only need it for 3 months until I pass my probation at my new job then the real cars move in Ideally want a diesel but not too bothered so long as mpg is good. If no-one has anything the money goes to a car dealer's hand over the next few weeks.
RobSheffield
Someone recently linked a car on ebay, and the seller always has 20-30 really clean looking low mileage cars. Wish i could find it again
supra_aero
If anyone can post the link that'd be awesome - I never thought of using ebay to be honest. Will check tonight. tx
j_jza80
We've just sold a diesel Polo that would have been perfect, my girlfriend let it go for around £500 less than it was worth!
Abz
You thought about maybe getting a VW Golf with that budget? Or an older Audi A4 would be ideal, in diesel form too.

My money would be on a non turbo diesel VW. The Golf/Polo/Ibiza SDi models are cheap, very reliable and great on fuel.

supra_aero
Citreon is too boxy for my liking. Sorry, though I'm sure its a nice car. Hope I don't live to regret turning it down!! Looked at golfs now and am considering them. Thanks. A4s are too pricey still.
