garethrees
Has anyone else has this problem... with a UK Spec Factory Alram I leave my car for two weeks without the alarm on (Chained to a wall) and when I try to use it the Battery is dead, (1.75 v) only, so flat in fact the charger does not recognise it and will not charge. Its a 12v 70amp Toyota Supra Special, form Toyota, (6 months old) What they recommended to me.
Paul Whiffin
My car goes through a battery every year, had the car 3 years now and 3 batteries, just fitted a new one a couple of days ago, god knows why.
GavinL
UK specs to drain the alarm, I usually trickle charge mine if it's going to sit for a while. The fact the battery won't recharge is odd though
Sharpie
Hi Gaz, I assume that you could try and get a replacement from Toyota if it's that new ? I got a new one from Toyota (Octagon) in Jul and it's been OK so far.
Bobbeh
Mine struggles some mornings, its embarrassing!
Syed Shah
I have this problem as well, although mine will take charge when flat. If it is really bothering you, get a bigger battery, like the Optima Yellow top or similar.
Matt C
Go to Halfords.....if it fecks up before it's 5 years old they just swap it. Edited: Forgot to mention, it's only 3 years if you buy the cheaper one.

My Optima still goes flat - if it's been 2 weeks I take the jump leads to the garage, just in case. 3 weeks? No point going without them.
SMW
When I bought my car the guy selling it had the alarm disconnected as the vehicle had been standing for a few weeks. I was a bit concerned about this and took it to the Toyota dealer when I got it back home. The guy there said no problem leaving it for longish periods with the alarm set. Oh dear wrong...................again:)
Barry
The longest I've left my car is just over 2 weeks without starting it, and it started first time. I can get a good deal on batteries, so if anyone wants any, let me know (see old ad in the Sales section).
garethrees
Hi All, Thanks for the comments, I got a Varta one from Cafco in bracknell, (Open Sunday!) for £67.35 all in. It starts much better now, but it still new (Will see what its like in a years time) Going to Toyota tomorrow, and asking them why this batt failed!! I also emailed a guy at http://www.knightbatteries.co.uk and told him my problem, asking about the Optima Yellow, he recommeded the Hawker Odyssey range PC1200 http://www.knightbatteries.co.uk/products.htm Quote: > The PC1200 delivers 1200Amps cranking (630A cold crank @ - > 18deg C for 30 sec) >and is capable of 400 recharges from 100% discharged. >Price each £175.89 includes VAT and UK delivery available from >stock. A bit pricy, but if this new one fails after a year, I'm getting one of these.
