scottish monster attack track day

To be fair Rob,

the slagging started 3 pages before anyone else associated with MonsterUnit even signed up. It's to be expected when you remember that the cars which are being commented on in a fairly straight forward manner are at the end of the day, someones pride and joy.

I realise that you post your car up on a forum expecting both positive and negative opinions, and if you can't handle that then you shouldn't post your car up at all - But this post wasn't about the cars of MonsterUnit, merely an invitation to a day that promises to be a good laugh for everyone involved..

It's a shame you live so far south as your car is pretty much exactly what i'd imagine Viney has in mind when posting up on owners clubs of this sort.

Sadly now sold :(

vinney means well, nothing arrogant about what he is saying unless you want to take it that way. monster unit have always been a close knit group of mates who all have very similar interests and taste in cars, its only been recently its got bigger and vinney has been inviting people to come along for the track days. but the track days get alot of media attention and the general standard of cars in attendance are always high, so we wouldnt want to spoil tradition and have some shanner on the track. but thats not saying this forum is full of shanners. it would be a bit like inviting some ned to come along in his cavalier to a top marques night. supras are more often than not kept well and get looked after hence why vinney had put the post up on here in the first place.

maybe if he worded it abit better then it wouldnt of escalated to this!

as said above in the other quote, if he had worded it right and actually took the time to explain instead of jumping to tell of his little troll friends then it wouldnt of got this far. Now all you and our band of merry trolls have done is came onto here and started arguments and etc, whos acting like a bunch of little girls now?! :p

Christ, at least someone with a bit of diplomacy actually signed up to the forum to defend MonsterUnit. Appreciate your input bud, I would recommend that you, or someone with at least a grasp on basic manners, take care of all future communications outside of your forum/club.

The slagging match officially started on post one to be fair mate. Have a look at it then compare it to how I would have worded it in my last post. One shows respect, one shows absolutely none. That for me set the standard, no respect recieved so none will be given. As you say, these cars are all someones pride and joy. Vinney didn't come onto a Chavalier forum to ask for the odd decent car to pop around to a track day. He came to the forum that he has been a part of for long enough to know the standard of MOST of the cars on here and how to at least be curteous.

I would suggest you keep that spanner K20 on a short leish too. My car is not worthy of the track day, which is fair enough, but to slag off Angel eyes and a boot install then show pics of a CTR with pink wheels and stickers is just ridiculous. Yes, the pink wheels and stickers may look good to the owner but the general consensus is going to be that it is complete trash..... the same deal with my angel eyes (I just like them :) ). As I said a LONG time ago, it's different horses for different courses. That is the reason I asked for clarification in my first post in this thread. I was looking for what is deemed acceptable and what isn't, I got a half arsed response so I started giving some back.

These things have to be kept in mind when talking to people from other forums, and I can assure you if there was a different attitude at the beginning of this thread there would have been a completely different outcome to the end of it.

I hope your day goes well.

Wow, this is what i call a forum! :)

Read this thread on a website and found it intriguing as I myself have also seen the invite Supratoy posted on other forums and found it very comedic and humourous, but i do understand why people on this forum would not find the humour in it, with the misunderstanding that he only wanted Cars up to his standard.

the intention that Supratoy came on was just simply inviting other car enthusiast to join the track day. Forums are made for opinions and i feel that this has been greatly acheived and the slagging matches is unnecessary from other people outside the club. With respect to people here, supratoy has actually apologised that he did not mean it in any targetting or attacking way but with people who still made crude comments about the monsterunit cars infact created a hostile environment that ended up with other club members joining in to defend. If it happened to you and someone slating your car and undermining without knowing anything IS rather annoying.

As stated that the outcome would be entirely different if people didnt take it that the inital invite was made to attack anyone in this forum whatsover. Just a simple, YES or No. ;)

I read the BANZAI article on Monsterattack track day last year which gave me a great insight in high performance and tuned cars. If people do understand the culture of this scene then they will understand why it is important for cars to be tuned to a certain performance level. I would not call this arrogance in anyway, a field they want to do with their cars then respect them for it.

I for one think that the Trackday event looks amazing and will be attending. Hope some people here would be willing to attend and opinions might change from laughing at cars because of their "shark fins" and respecting their performance side.

in all fairness i cant really see alot of people attending this (i am not speaking for anyone in specific and i am just saying) after the rest of the "monster unit" came on and created an even more hostile environment by having "sly digs" at member's cars. All we treid to say to supratoy was to make it abit more friendly and word it different to what he put!

I totally agree that the wording may have caused some slight misunderstanding, i am not specifically helping monsterunit but i do feel that it was not justified and the intial hostility started at the beginning with CERTAIN digs about the monsterunit cars without actually knowing about them first. which again aggrevated monsterunit members to come in, i probably would do the same if i was them. I just hoped that someone in this forum would see two sides and outcome would have been different without always feel that Supratoy was dissing or attacking ANYONE in this forum.

Yeah i was only suggesting maybe go and see, but again i understand that this has not gone well.

The initial "digs" were only implied due to the way he put the OP. the same can be said for him and what he was saying about cars, there as some cars on here that monsterunit may think are "sheds" but in actual fact they have had lots of money and time spent on them, just because they dont look the part dosent mean that they havnt had any engine work or suspension and etc done. It all goes back down to personal taste and style, some people will keep the stock look and just focus on the engine and etc or others will go for the body styling and engine work. All we were trying to say was he has tmake it more clear in what they class as badly modified.

Not wanting to sound arrogant but no badly modified car will be allowed on track and if you turn up with one you will receive a full refund on the day.

obviously he would not have posted if he thought cars here are badly modified and it was a comedic twist that alot are still misunderstanding. I do see from your side that reading it at the start may seem that he was dissing but it was all for humour. If you read on the first page, it started that some people commented on the video and said about the Monsterunit cars in the video. YES, exactly my point, everyone HAS SPENT SO much money in their cars and we all work so hard to get the best parts but the meaning of badly modified is that cars that only looks good but has not done any suspension work or engine, only for show. The event is a TRACK event therefore there is a need for a degree of performance level. The statement he made was not "directly" to anyone, just simply a humourous part that states what to expect in the track event.

But yeah, badly modified can be defined from person to person, i think it was just a simple statement and not meaning anyone in particular in this forum. I just felt that it was a mere misunderstanding and from my side i found it to be humourous where as some in here may feel differently, again totally acceptable and understandable. :)

you dont really ed to be a "high performance" to go on a track, ive seen from the last track day that we went to that high performance cars were getting there arse handed to them by the little nimble cars, that clearly have only had an exhaust and air filter done to it. obviously in the straights the performance side came into it, but most of the track is corners so it dosnt really matter about the "performance" side tbh.

So my red car with the 'race performance' bits is welcome?... clutch, suspension, 2 way diff, cf seats, engine cut offs.... it just looks like crap (especially since the missus put it into a fence) :)

is that the supe that went through the barriers at suprapod last year?

What degree of perfromance level is required though (We honestly still don't know by the way).

Is a stock TT with 320hp, 320ftlbs of torque, double wishbone suspension and Bilstein shocks & springs not deemed worthy? What about the N/A? Similar makeup on the chassis with a non-turbo engine producing 220hp and 210ftlbs of torque?

Both cars are very capable in stock form in the right hands, as experienced drivers on this forum will verify.

We are all still completely in the dark as to what is required to be deemed worthy of this trackday. Other than angel eyes and boot installs being out.

i cant see why having angel eyes is a problem tbh, our driving at day i thought lol, the boot install i can sort of seeing where they come from (depending on how big it is)

Ah, didn't realise that was you. Surely you knew better than the let the missus have a go :p

This thread didn't get off to the best start and hasn't ended well either lol.

I don't expect many people from here to turn up to the track day.
