Stewart10
Can anyone tell me what I should do with this last white wire here in the attached picture please? I am trying to remove my headlights but I can't see in there properly and don't want to just yank it out like the wire next to it in case the fittings are different. It seems that the fitting on that bulb is different to all the others on the car!! Any help please??
SupraShaun
Just unplug the loom out of the bulb, you dont need to remove that part you have shown to get the light out.
Scott
The metal clip is a spring, push the rounded bit and move it downwards. This will then pull out and allow you to remove the bulb holder/lead. Whatever you do don't do what SupraShaun just wrote

SupraShaun
Whatever you do don't do what SupraShaun just wrote I just unplug mine, undo the nuts and they come out - I dont have to do any of the above ( I think ).
Scott
I just unplug mine, undo the nuts and they come out - I dont have to do any of the above ( I think ). If you pull that lead you will be left with a broken foglight. You need to either remove the bulb as detailed above or pull at the connection from inside the cover that goes over the back of the light. If you choose the 2nd option you run the risk of snapping the terminal, it's best and easiest to just remove the bulb.
SupraShaun
That must be what I done then (its been a while) as my fogs work - ignore me

Stewart10
Cheers for the help guys, one just successfully removed! Best idea is to look at the design on the new light and spring thing just moves down and releases the bulb. But to be honest most probably already knew that! Stewart10
Sorry but now I have another problem! One of the bulbs doesn't seem to fit in like it did in the old unit. I have attached 3 pics to show the problem. Basically the new lights seem to have a little metal bit stopping the bulb from fitting in... shown at the bottom of the pic here. It says the word "lock" right next to the bit of metal blocking it. Any ideas now????
SupraShaun
Do you have a UK or Jspec car and what type of lights are your new ones (Plastic Pre-facelift, Glass or Facelift)?
Stewart10
The old lights are from a J-Spec and they are plastic, the new ones are the glass off Whifbitz which I was told would fit any model. This metal bit prevents the bulb from slotting in by mm literally otherwise every other bulb its fine so I can't understand it
SupraShaun
Have a look here for bulb comparisons - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?142251-Which-headlight-bulbs-for-JSpec-and-UK-Spec&highlight=bulbs
Stewart10
Hmmm it's seeming that maybe the original bulb loom is Jspec so therefore won't fit on here. I'm due to get some HID lights soon will these eliminate this problem?
SupraShaun
Im not sure, hopefully someone more knowledgeable than myself will be able to answer
Stewart10
Hopefully lol, this is so frustrating. I have the old lights, the bulbs fit then try in the new lights and they don't, they do for a couple but not the other 2 so I'm b******d if I know
SupraShaun
It should be something quite simple as loads of people do this conversion.
Scott
You want to buy the UK spec bulbs bud. I can't remember exactly but I remember something like H9006 as opposed to H9005 or something like that. The 9005 jspecs will fit in the UK glass lights, takes a little bit of playing to get them in though. Try unscrewing the 3 screws around the bulb holder on the light, don't remove them completely just loosen them off a bit then try again with the bulbs.
