Le Mans pix and my story about it

Right.. where do I start.. LOL

I wasn’t in my car, as its still in the workshop for the last 2 months and God knows when I’m getting it back.. sigh..

In our group we had 4 Lambos ( 3 Diablos and 1 Countach), 2 Porsches, Scooby and Pagani Zonda. So I was a passenger in the Countach.

We are all met up at the Channel on 16th in the morning. I took a few pix before the departure.

On arrival to Calais – we formed a lovely looking convoy and blasted it! LOL At one point we were doing 295 kph (185 pmh) !! So I have to admit, the roads down there – like heavens LOL

We stayed in a small village, abt 45 km from Le Mans. On our 1 st day – we had a huge dinner with loads of drinks.

Next day – we went all for a drive to Le Mans and to look around Arnauge village. It was great – the amount of cars was just unbelievable!

But in the whole time – I only seen 3 Supras.. Black, Silver and Red – all at different times of the day. The red one was passing through Arnauge while we were sitting inside waiting for a diner. It was so bloody loud that even Chris (Pagani Zonda’s owner) – said, whats was that?? LOL Very impressing

So the day after, on Sat – we went to watch the race. I think I was the celebrity there, walking around in my pink shorts LOL People were taken pix of me non stop, I was even offered a free top with any design on it in return for that shop to take a pic of me wearing that top, so they can put it on their website. To what I agreed, and now I’m a proud owner of white top with yellow Ducati 748 print on it! LOL

Mr Pagani signed my shorts (so not washing them now LOL). Took a pic with the Edonis President and his chief Engineer (he previously worked for Bugatti, designed the electronic etc and before that he worked at Maserati for 35 yrs). The Engineer offered the Edonis (worth 600 K euros) in exchange for me !! LOL I said, I’ll come to collect later! :-p

The sad thing is, on our way back home (on Sunday) everyone in our group got caught by police for speeding. The Countach was fined at 750 euros for doing 193 kph, where’s the others – only 90 euros.. The driver also lost his licence and wasn’t allowed to drive the car, so – guess what… I had to drive it back to the Calais! LOL

That was an experience, I must say. Never drove one before, never drove in France on the wrong side of the road – and it was at night, plus I didn’t have any, I mean ANY flat shoes, so had to drive it with bare feets.. I was so proud of myself – didn’t stall the car once, though the clutch and gear box was so heavy.. But I made it fine, all the way from Abbeville to Calais!

Almost, forgot – on our way back – we joined Lamborghini French Club for a lunch near Paris. They cooked whole 2 big lambs!! Lots of Lambo Champagne – I even took 1 champagne glass with their logo like a present with me home!

I hope you’ll enjoy the pix

If they were all together, then they were Soop Dogg (black), Ian C (red) and myself (silver). We ony saw two other Supras the whole week we were there: One white one in a Supermarket carpark and one Veilsided black one that I left a club card on the window.

Digsy,

the black veilside kitted one you left the card on the window was my mates car.(He's not on the forum and doesn't want to join) and mine was parked 15feet away behind the white motorhome!. Never mind.

Had a great time anyway, just not as glamorous as Suprawoman's time!

OK not the same guy, he has now bought a black Jalpa I think, but I do know he has a Northern friend with a Zonda if that rings any bells.

Also, did something that NO other person did at Le Mans this year.

Three mates and myself also bought our push bikes. On Friday when the pitlane was open we managed to get on the track near the pit straight (won't say exactly where as we want to get on again next year!!) by opening a closed but not locked gate.

We then rode along pit straight up the hill to the Dunlop Bridge thru the Esses along to Tetre Rouge. Once there two marshalls stopped us asking us how we got on to the closed circuit. Shrugs and a bit of broken French and we were sent on our way down Mulsanne back on the public road bit.

it was great riding along the pits with all these people staring at us, must have thought we were guests of the ACO or something, but a unique experience for us!!

I saw 3 of these Diablos at Alencon on Thursday night. I was with Angoe and Alex off this board at the time. You had a red Porsche 911 with you at the time. I think you came out of a junction turning right, and must have decided you had gone the wrong way as you all turned around at a roundabout and came howling back sown the road past our hotel.

The last one in the line (black I think) sounded awesome!

Anyway, I'll get some pics sorted out and post them later, but in the meantime, here's a taster or two.
