BABZ988
Hi all, what's your definition of "Small single" ?? what's the max limit in : >Power target >turbo size At My guess, a small single is around 550 hp !! What's the max hp the AEM FI/c can handle safely (this one usely for RyanG) i wanna singled my car but i know i will not have enough found to achieve my +700hp target and i don't want crappy stuff! My 1st project will be >GTX3582 (This turbo kit would allow me to keep the same turbo for over 650hp) > P.E -650cc inj. >AEM FI/c (would buy a solaris ECU if going directly to 700hp) >264° cams + all other bits i already have (FMIC, clutch kit, AFR gauge...) whit all i have my budget would be like 7000-8000$ THanks
Luxluc
Around 6k£ will be short for the single route. Come up with a rough idea on what you have in mind (turbo, power, ...), so you'll get some better advise.

imi
with 650cc injectors you are limited to around 600ish anyhow. a t61 or equivalent which is considered a small single can get upto that power with supporting mods; t67 can do it easily. imi
Nic
As for the GTX35, I can't see that getting to 650hp, maybe 560-580 ish with supporting mods. Garrett say the GTX35R will flow up to 10% more than a GT35R, that being true 600+hp should be achievable.
dr_jekyll
slighly off topic but what would be achiveable with a small single on stock injectors and ecu , to cheaply replace a set of cooked twins lets say would it be basicly the same as the ttc conversion im just being hypithetical here

Luxluc
That's what a lot of people do, me included. I would start with a small single turbo (around 60mm tubbie), and then have some fun with it. When you decide you want more power (believe me, you will), then I would think about a stand alone ECU, bigger turbo and a fuel system. Cheers Luc
Nic
yeah ;10%; on garrett website they say that the new GTX3582 has a powerband from 550 to 750 hp 750 looks a bit optimist but, they say that! Horsepower 450 - 750 Displacement 2.0L - 4.5L They don't say it will make 750hp on a 3.0L engine, 750hp would be on a 4.5L engine. The GT35R is good for 550+hp on a 2JZGTE, so the GTX35R should be good for around 600+hp if what is claimed is true.
RobD
You should wait for a decent used kit to come up! That's what I've done, I've gone with a PHR stage 2 kit with a DBB turbo, I'll be buying some 850cc injectors and rail and Ryan suggested a used AEM EMS and DLI due to how cheap the second hand ones are at the moment. Gaz6002
I don't see how BHP can equate to the 'size' of the turbo. A GT45 could make 550bhp, and that isn't small
BABZ988
yeah but i think it would be laggy Does a big turbo use at his minimum; perform the same as a medium turbo used at full boost ?? I'm on to buy a AEM FI/C for now
