shaz2010
Been a member for about 7 months now and never got round to putting pics of her on here. so here are some took just before she went to sleep for the winter! I wanted to ask a question about the carbon spoiler, the underneath is shiney carbon like its just out from the shop but the top as you should be able to see from the pics is the top has sort of faded!! Its almost like the sun has done this over time! Any products that can bring it back to life? cheers (Sorry for the sun it was doing my head in) http://www.flickr.com/photos/58653936@N05/show/ The window tints are gone didnt like them, they were dark blue and the headlights are clear now (not yellow anymore) Edited January 23, 2011 by shaz2010 (see edit history)
Westy
Dont know of any products that would bring it back bud...its caused by UV rays damaging the resin coat. Just lose the spoiler, car would look alot better without it!

Any products that can bring it back to life? cheers I tried numerous products at quite a cost (also totally flatted the bonnet then brought back up to shine) to permanently restore the fade / milkyness that carbon items tend to get after x amount of years. I didnt find a "permanent" solution but the "fix" I settled on using for a while (thanks to Jamie P's insight) was WD40. Give it a go - bit on a rag and like rub it in. know it sounds slightly mad but it works well and is by far the cheapest option ^^, If you dont like the sound of the WD40 idea, then you need a high quality polish - one that restores moisture to the dry parts of the spoiler caused from the UV of sunlight. Will over time though fade back though > Oh the joys of carbon Oh and welcome for 7 months back
