Steve W Posted January 4, 2003 Share Posted January 4, 2003 I got a 'shop-sign' firm to run me one up.... most number plate 'shops' don't do anything other than 'normal' ALTHOUGH, I think someone said Halfrauds do ? ? ? ChrisR Posted January 4, 2003 Share Posted January 4, 2003 Most number plate shops\sites will make up plates to any size however if they are not the standard size they will be classed as show plates and not for road use. I had some made up in my town by an independant motor store. I had to sign an oredr form to say the plates were not for road use so as not to implicate the shop if i got pulled. dude Posted January 4, 2003 Share Posted January 4, 2003 Best place for any size plate is Motor Cycle News in the classified section , like steve says due to the new laws that came out on jan 1 they will now be signs , they dont become number plates till you put them on a car , most normal plate making firms (motor factors etc) cant allter the size/spacing cause the machines are computerized , but you will get any size you want out of MCN , we just bought one for a bike and its the same size as a mars bar. Paul Posted January 4, 2003 Share Posted January 4, 2003 Funnily enough, I just received a new set of plates this morning for my new number and they look bloody good. I got them done by GT Grafix and was a bit iffy about doing them mail order but these guys are good. My UK spec has the deeper 6" rear plate and they did this spot on and they can do any size plate, any spacing req. etc. I highly recommend them, website also although I phoned my order through just to make sure. http://www.gtgrafix.com Paul.
