black_widow87
Hi guys, I'm currently looking at getting myself a cheap pair of suitable wheels for drag use. I know someone who has a pair of 17" 7JJ ET35 for sale and I was planning of fitting some toyo R888 245/45/R17's. I understand that with these on will decrease the strength of the sidewalls when running low psi but hese will only be used in a straight line. What are your thoughts guys?? tooquicktostop
If you are going to the trouble of drag wheels I would fit them with slick drag tyres and change them at the strip
GazB
Try this rubber for drag racing R888's are a better track tyre http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/strip.php?item=ETStreetRadialII
black_widow87
New drag wheels are a little out my price range, just looking for a cheaper alternative really. A mate of mine ran A048's on his civic and knocked off a whole second off his best time, I'd be very happoy to see them results to be honest. JamieP
R888 will be rubbish for drag racing, as gaz says, get some radial et streets.
