Jake
The fan on my kid's ti4200 has died and seems to have caused the card to burn out. All the text is garbled even on the BIOS screens. So, what's a decent graphics card these days? I'm a bit out of touch with the PC malarky since I got into moneypit jap supercars. It must be AGP (x4 max due to Mobo), have reasonable games performance (GTA: San Andreas mostly at the moment) and cost less than £100 if poss. Any advice? What to avoid, what's good VFM, etc thanks PS, http://www.novatech.co.uk is close to me so I'd like to buy from there really.
RedM
PC World are doing an ATI X700 AGP for 99 squid at the moment. If the had PCI-E I'd have it at that price.
Homer
He's going to be a bit limited now as most new cards are PCI-E. Also its not ideal to have an 8x AGP card in a 4x bus, I've read on quite a few sites that this can cause problems. IMO the ATI Radeon 9800 is a very good performer for the money, provided it works okay in the 4x bus
