dcarrter21
Right, here goes. my car as standard had the 5speed torsen diff... i recently brought a v160 gearbox and a 96 tt manual propshaft i fitted the gearbox and then tried to fit the prop but when i did this the doughnut was the wrong pcd.... i looked into this and brought a companion flange from a facelift na 6speed this corrected the doughnut problem and the pcds of the holes matched.. tonight i fitted this new flange, offered up the prop but when i went to bolt up the centre bearing the holes didnt line up! i remember reading somewhere that jamie p has fitted and blown up an n/a diff on his black car, im wondering if im missing a part or something?????? im lost with it now! dude
B diffs and A diffs have diff size rear props, the B diff is shorter. strangely an A type prop fits a 6spd and B type diff but the centre bearing doesn't bolt up !!!!!!!

Stephen G
if you use the rear half of the prop that was in your car would that not work?

Stephen G
My bad, didnt know that. I thought you could change the rear part the same as when you put a 6 speed in to a auto tt but keeping the auto diff
dcarrter21
i think that the front part of the tt auto prop is shorter than the manual tt prop. but thats just the section that bolts to the gearbox. my problem seems to be at the other end

Chris Wilson
RECO PROP will alter your existing propshaft to fit, given accurate measurements. I won't use anyone else, very good indeed. http://www.reco-prop.com/
dude
All you need is a facelift 6 spd prop. or an auto J spec prop and make a new mount for the centre bearing, job done.
