Lights all off

The car has stood for about 6 weeks due to workload and bad weather.

Went to start the car on Monday, everything dead. Charged the battery overnight, refitted it-same thing.

Fitted a brand new battery yesterday and all was fine (I think)

Driving home half an hour ago, I put my sidelights on. The dash lit up so I assumed all was ok.

Whilst in a bit of a traffic jam the guy behind me kept beeping at me and eventually told me my brake lights weren't wotking.

Turned my headlights on and they were fine.

When I got home I checked all lights with the engine running and found that I had been driving without either stop or tail lights in the dark and fog!

My side lights are also out but the front fogs are ok.

I do not possess a torch so am unable to check the footwell fuses at the mo, but find it highly unlikely that all those circuits could blow together.

Is there a main fuse I should check in the morn when I am able to see?

Any pointers gratefully received.

It could be when you changed the battery you shorted a couple of fuses, first place to start really. Have fun under the steering well, pain in the bum to see properly
