I'd say that was rude, but its her loss as she gets to eat a cold meal. If it looked like she wasn't going to get off the phone, I'd have left hers in the kitchen and just sat there eating mine.

Some people let the phone dominate their lives, I seem to be the opposite, if I am eating and the phone rings, even though it is next to me I will ignore it until I'm finished. We have an answer machine and if people can't be bothered to leave a message then their call cannot have been that important. My wife on the other hand will do a slight panic if the phone rings, and if its her mum she will have to answer it. Despite my protests she will say "they'll just keep ringing" but I maintain she should let them and learn to ignore the phone. They will learn after a few attempts.

I do that too. I hardly ever answer the phone at home, even if I'm not actually doing anything at the time! I call them back if they've left a message, though. :)

Same here, even if I'm doing nothing I'll let it ring and go to voicemail. If it's important they will then call my mobile instead or text :D

Important question. Is she fit and does she have enormous baps? :)

:D

This is a valid & important question which needs answering, preferably with pics :sly:

Hmm, rock and a hard place...if you've spent time cooking for someone, it's rude of them to keep it waiting - either dinner spoils through overcooking, or it spoils through going cold on the plate. Personnally I just get on with it - if my missus gets a cold dinner, that's her lookout because she gets plenty of warning that it's ready.

Next time before serving up the meal place her phone in the oven, if she goes to answer it in the middle of the meal gently hold her head in the oven and turn on the gas. Once she's past out, carry her back to her chair and carefully place her face in her food, she'll wake after a couple of minutes confused and disorientated. Repeat the process as necessary, eventually she'll get the message.

So off the normal topic... I saw this HOVIS comment again... what's the other definition of the word aside from bread... I'm curious :D

It was just a seedy attempt by some of our more err 'lonely' members to get a quick peek at new female members, by asking them to take a photo of themselves with a loaf of 'Hovis', just to confirm that they were genuine, etc. All very immature and pervy IMO.

Any loaf will do, by the way. ;)

Very RUDE...

I have major issues with phones at dinner tables.... okay I'm guilty of it due to work related things, but I have a different work phone and IF it is urgent then I have to take it, but usually I leave it to go to voicemail and get if afterwards. I've got an early warning system for all work related problems anyway so I usually know what they are before my guys call me.

In addition to finding what Hovis is, try learning where the search button is :D

Or let the mods answer for you. Disappointed mod.... disappointed at how you answered that so easily.

It was a joke old bean. No need to get sensitive about it. :)

Not sensitive my friend. Just disappointed that we didn't give the usual jokes about Hovis and suggest the poster use the search button. Took me months to realise that the members on the forum were not addicted to a certain type of bread. Mods being helpful.... this forum is going down hill :D

you must be the lonely, grumpy one Marbleapple :D

Thats right. I'm actually RedM and/or Michael pretending to be Marbleapple. :D

P.s we are losing track of this thread.... thought we were shouting Hovis?
