David Reid
As some of you may have read, I bought an ECU on here from captachaos which arrived with me and didnt work. Just so that everyone know s what sort of person he is, he was not willing to help me with the reapir cost at all. In summery NEVER buy from him. Anyway back to the ECU, I needed an ECU to get my car running so bought a Syves from Ryan. I sent this ECU back to AEM and they have quoted to repair it $639 dollars. This repair is basically complete replacement of the circuit board so you will end up with very latest AEM ECU but in a version 1 casing. So I am asking a payment of £200, you then pay AEM $639 dollars (approx £400) + pstage, they will fix and update the ECM to latest spec, test it and send it direct to you. I comes with no other sensors, as these were already on my car and were used with the Syvecs. I think £600 is quite cheap for a latest spec AEM and just want rid of it now as have lost approx £900. Geo
i think it would be alot of hassel to the new buyer to buy this, then go through all the repair action. Why can't you repair it, then sell on afterwards with the statement above?? Just asking mate, as i know myself, i would hate to be going through all this rig ma roll, even more so after shelling out £
David Reid
The reason is I want the buyer to have 100% confidence the ECU works and not have any of the hassle I did. If I sell it coming direct from AEM, there can be no chance it wont work 100% when it arrives with the buyer. Series 2 ECM's are £1250 new, so the price of £600 reflects the "hassle" involved to any buyer. Just to confirm the entire board and connector will be replaced so you would get an effectively new ECU in an old case. All this hassle would envolve is one payment to me, then a phone call to ECM to pay the repair cost and give your postage details. The 2 weeks later the ECU would arrive. Far less hassle than I have had buying off a single poster If no one is interested I'l pay it mayself and keep it for a future project
SupraDan24
Would it be easier for you just to add the two prices together, say £600 all in, they pay you that sum, you sort everything out and have it delivered to them straight from AEM. Since you currently own the ECU, i would have thought it was more prudent for you to deal with AEM rather than the potential buyer.

I wouldn't however recommend you getting it repaired and then putting it up for sale - with the market the way it is and the bunch of chancers out there, you will stand to lose more than the £200. imi
David Reid
I am quite happy to do this also .ie buyer pay me £600 and I pay the repair cost, then ECM come straight from AEM to buyer

Peter P
The price is very good so don't think that's stopping anyone from buying it. Money is generally tighter for everyone at this time of year and recession, price increases, higher VAT and petrol etc don't help!! Bargain IMHO and if I had the cash i'd snap it up!!! Best of luck with the sale.

jackso11
I think you would have much more luck selling if you had it repaired and just sold it the day it came back from AEM with the repair reciept, that way you can scam and post a picture of the repair so the buyer knows it works. I wouldn't buy it knowing it's going to be sent to be repaired and then come back to me, what if that takes months?
