How do you remove the fan cowling?

Very easy but fiddly really.

If you go under the car reach up the sides or the round part that goes around the fan. Either side in the middle is a clip, remove them and slide the bottom half of the circle that goes around the fan off. While your under there, remove the 2 x 10mm bolts, 1 either side of the cowling an the bottom. There is also 1 or 2 can't remember which that holds the bottom of the small fan in place remove those and unplug the multi-plug for it.

Back up top, remove the top bolt for the small fan and lift it out.

Remove the 2 x 10mm bolts at top of cowling either side.

The cowling is now lose.

Remove top rad pipe and lift the cowling out. Make sure there's no harness attached to it down where the IC pipework is off the TB.

Sounds harder than it is. Good luck dude.

Gave this a go today and couldn't get enough access to the small fan area. The intercooler pipe to the intake is in the way. I can't get enough purchase on the harness to unplug it, I can't even feel a button to disengage it. I managed to remove 2 10mm bolts underneath the fans, no idea of they are the right ones or not but the rest of the assembly feels slack lol.

Looks like the undertray is going to have to come off :(

They're a right bugger aren't they!

Yeah, the access is terrible. If I was taking out the rad at the same time it would have been sooooo much easier.

That will be the reason why the manual tells you to do it with the rad rather than on its own :D
