My RX7 FD3S Burnout Kitted..

Here we have my stunning RX-7 FD3S for sale, I have owned the car approx 1 year and have had all the work done myself, I bought it nearly standard and have changed a lot of parts and spent a small fortune. I also haven’t covered many miles since all the parts were fitted, so they are all almost new.

First the Burnout kit was fitted consisting of a front & rear bumper, side skirts and front and rear 20mm wide fenders, which in my opinion is the best kit of the RX-7 as it suits the original lines of the car so well.. The kit took a month or so to fit and paint, mainly due to getting the arches perfect and everything lining up as it should. All the work including engine and body and paint has been carried out by very well known and highly regarded specialist Super 7 Autos in Henfield - you will not hear a bad word said about Jason - owner of Super 7 Autos in the RX-7 community.

The perfect wheels were then put on, very suitable for this kit, a very rare set of Weds Bulivin T8’s were sourced, only a couple of sets exist in the UK, and they cost new around 2.5k without tyres from Weds Wheels, they are also the same as on the famous Burnout Demo car – they’re almost designed to go with this kit! They are 19” diamond cut 9 & 10j wheels with the correct offsets for this kit and look amazing with no spacers needed!

Other exterior modifications include converting the rear lights to the later ’99 spec round tail lights, 99’ spec carbon front bumper lights , the large stock mirrors ditched for genuine Gandaor mirrors and the front number plate is on a hinge and does lift up over a certain speed to allow air to the rad.

Many upgrades have been carried out on the engine to increase performance and reliability in some cases, the picture with the red hoses being how it used to look, the new black and polished engine bay pics will be added shortly (you won't be disappointed) The engine was rebuilt at 114,750kms – 71,302 miles by RX Motors – very reputable specialist based in Hampshire, and one of the best known in the RX-7 community along with Super 7 Autos, I also have the paper work to show this, the engine is now on 12*,000kms (approx 80,000 miles – exact figure tbc) to be honest mileage is pretty irrelevant on RX7's as it's all about the rebuild! Engine is very strong, I’ve never had any issues with it starting from hot or freezing, or any issues full stop and if you want to come and compression test the engine I have no issue with this as I know the readings are very high as there have been two carried out by Super 7 Auto’s since I’ve had it, one when I first purchased it, then another after I had clocked up a few miles and added the engine mods. If you’re after more power, I have literally done all the modifications needed to go single, you just need the turbo of your choice and manifold! Personally I love the spooling from the twins, it flies by the big laggy singles until the big single hits speeds that no one ever will much realistically on our roads and of course is much better than a single around the twisty roads as it pulls so well low down.

The ride is one of the best I have ever experienced in a lowered car, it’s not uncomfortable at all, and goes to show the quality of the suspension I have fitted.

Here is a summary of the spec, note that most of the parts are nearly new including all the audio, bodykit, wheels, tyres, all engine mods and V-mount..

Suspension:

Silk Road Coilovers, height and damper adjustable – it is currently lowered, and I did try it a little lower but the wheels wouldn’t allow, so it’s at an ideal height at the moment. Silk Road is one of the best coilovers out there for the FD.

The boring bits:

The car has MOT until Aug 2011 and 6 months tax when it runs out at the end of Jan 2011. The car is HPI clear, the car comes with service history and 2 sets of keys and 2 alarm fobs.

The bad bits:

The speedo is not accurate, this is easily fixable, the reason I have not done it, is because I was going to change the dial faces at the same time but still haven’t found the ones I was after – so it remains unfixed! This car is now 19 years old so please allow for a minor blemish on the paintwork, although it has always been well cared for and garaged in my care. And of course most of the panels have been re-sprayed when the kit was fitted - all except the roof where the small blemish is!

I really recommend this car be seen to be appreciated all the work that has gone it to it, nothing has been bodged or every job has been carried out with no expense spared! It's a very tidy, genuine RX-7 and this is a very honest ad. More pictures available and engine bay/interior picture coming this week..

However pictures may been found at this link:

I can be contacted on 07544449224 if you wish to arrange a viewing or have any questions.

PLEASE NOTE THE ENGINE BAY PICTURE IS NOT CURRENT - I CHANGED ALL RED HOSES TO BLACK AND FILTERS MOVED TO MAKE WAY FOR THE SHINY V-MOUNT IC.

What's next in store for you car-wise?

GLWS. As already mentioned, best stick a price up if you have one in mind. You might want to host the photos on something like photobucket: when I clicked the link it wanted me to install the latest version of Silverlight, which might put off some people.

Why are you selling up Nell? Coming back to the Supra fold?

Not sure tbh.. I do love the Supra.. They're gorgeous, smooth and powerfull.. but I just love the handling of the RX7, and the way it feels like a race car/crazy go kart lol however if I was offered a nice single Sup I'd certainly consider it.. Or maybe a GZ Aero ;)

Another gorgeous car for sale.... must resist :taped: I've always loved Supras, but RX7s have a big place in my heart too. Yours being kitted up and black is very tempting, sure you'll have no trouble selling it :) I wish you could get RX7 aeros as that's what puts me off (You only get them in hardtop) :D

Haha yeah that's what I thought at first.. but to be honest, you don't need an aerotop when you have a car that's this much fun ;)

It's a no from me. ;)

Good luck with the sale, Nell. That certainly is a great looking car. :)

Ha! Don't want your aero anyway  Too slow :p

I do still love the RX7's and still hold them in high regard.

What you need to do is date a guy who has an aerotop TT, then swap cars on a daily basis and get the best of both worlds.

Not mentioning any names but I may happen to own a TT6 Aerotop :innocent:
