Neil-NA
Do you have heaters on recirc or drawing it in from outside?

Neil-NA
If i have mine on recirc it is as you say and steams up really quick, less than a min i would say and i cant find any leaks, just leave it drawing in from the outside and it should clear. stevie_b
As Neil said. Recirculating the air will raise the moisture level fairly quickly due to moisture in your breath: result = windows misting up. I don't think the boot rubbers (perished or not) would contribute to this problem.

It doesn't need servicing as such. If it works, great, if it doesn't it's got a leak and needs refilling. The usual advice is to use it once in a while to keep it working properly. A lot of aircon systems seem to develop a slow leak if unused, probably around the seals.

BazzaAlpine
I tend to find with any recurc on you also need the air con on to get rid of the moisture building up.

Guest wantthatone
well the misting up is now sorted.... however, after some realy severe frost i have noticed condensation on the inside of the rear window which freezes, as it dries the water drips on to the luggage blind etc... any ideas? i have checked the tail gate rubber, all seems ok, i have new boot rubbers to fit, the ones that fit the boot & fit the bodywork. i will try this & see if any remedy has been achieved! but any ideas guys welcome, as we are doing a full stereo install soon & carbon interior fit... i need it water tight peeps... jonc
Check:- 1.Boot seal by doing chalk test 2.Spoiler bolts as the water can run through the holes 3.Electric aerial drain and body on the right hand side of the boot. 4. Worse case scenario glass seal. The best way I have found on other cars is to strip the boot of all trim and lie in the boot with the tailgate closed and get someone to hose down the back of the car. With no trim you can soon see where the water is coming from.
Neil-NA
Do you have any damp rags in the car? anything you have used to wipe the Windows with, could always try a box half full of salt with holes in the top of it, used to do this with mx5s and it works.
