I had an hour to spare this morning so I got a couple of little jobs done.....

I had to take the headlight out to get to some screws etc I dropped so I took the opportunity to take a pic of the wiring that I done yesterday. It's a little different than it was previously purely down to the new ballast that was slightly different from the old design.

I then set to work on the SRD under tray. I had to modify it slightly for the Do-Luck bumper, but once I did it fit like a glove.

To add a little cherry I put on the TRD strut brace. I had actually forgotten about it until it next to a tyre that I was taking down.

Lastly I decided to take a picture of my 295 tyres next to my 265 tyres. The difference in width is just ridiculous. I'm curious as to the reason for this, I suspect that Falken are just really tight with their tyre widths. The 265s are stretched beyond belief on my 10" wheels. The falkens are currently on the wheel so some of that width is actually down to the stretch as well.

I thought it was about time I had a proper fitting A-Pillar. I bought a 3 gauge pod years ago and it looked OEM. Unfortunately it didn't have any clips on it to fix it in the OEM location so I had to use sticky tape to hold it. I wanted a more original fit so I got myself a good condition A-pillar cover and went to town butchering it to my new gauge pod.

Yeah I'm ok mate just plodding along, how is the family doing? The new arrival can't be that far away?!

All good mate, 1 month and counting lol. How about you and yours? Getting your sleep back? :D

PS might need to have a chat about some bodywork the next time I see you, 3 years in the garage hasn't bode well for the poor girl. Few scratches etc that are adding up and need some loving attention from someone that's not a ham fisted moron :D

Vhairi is sleeping ok. Finlay thinks that sleep is for the weak. I am walking about like an empty shellsuit most days.

Yeah will have a look at for you see what we can do.

We got so lucky with Iris that I just can't see it happening again. Let the zombie apocalypse begin :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Big update this one although it's never going to look like it. I spent 6 hours on the car tonight, mostly on the ECU/harness with a little bit of tidying up.

I wanted to tidy up the wiring for the Syvecs as although I had sorted it all with plugs, there were lots of them. I got a hold of a 12 pin plug and set to work sorting it all out. I had to keep track of everything as I went along.

This is the harness finished but I had to put it in for testing prior to tidying it all.

Job done! I haven't had a chance to fire it up yet but I'll try it tomorrow. Everything was working prior to tidying it all so hopefully it's all good.

Here are the pinouts for the new harness.

While sorting out all the harness wiring I turned my attention to my oil pressure/temperature gauge. It had been falling out of the hole feeling sorry for itself for months so I decided it was time to fit it properly. Cue another 4 pin plug and the install was done.

The car is actually starting to look more like a car now.

attachment.php?attachmentid=198690&stc=1&d=1426023503

Ok, maybe not lol. Major progress is being made though.

With the harness all wired in and the TC & Cal switch wired in I set to work configuring it all. It's now all working exactly as it should, well pending the post-tidy test tomorrow :)
