What is still to be done buddy? Keen to pop down and see it sometime soon :)

Most of the front suspension, sorting out the IC pipework (mostly just mikalor clamps required), block off a few ports with end caps, sort out the wiring underneath the turbo, sort out the wastegate piping properly, wrap the decat, sort out the AFR, wire the interior back up, replace the dash panels, sort out the lower radiator and thermostat, wire in the EGT probe(s), sort out the breathers, give it all a general tidy and a tighten, put on the decat's, exhaust and plumb in the wastegate recirculation.

Lots of checking etc, but that's pretty much it. Not a great deal of work to get it fired up. Once it's running I'll be swapping out the fuel pump with a bosch and the clutch needs changed over..... bit crampt to do that on my back on my own but will see.

You have so much patience to drag things out this long :D

Patience.... yeah..... that's what it is.

In my defence I've been trying to track down why it wouldn't idle. Things should move a little faster now :)

Time for my annual update on this.

My plan was to hit this hard over the Winter holidays. The plan started off well with me sticking to it and going out to top up all the fluids, check everything was running OK etc. The car would struggle to start, I would get there eventually but it took a right few goes. Ran the car for a while, topping up all the fluids as it went. Once I was happy, I plugged in the laptop and had a look at how everything was running. Everything seemed to be looking good until I spotted the coolant temp nudging into the red (95DegC) on the Syvecs monitor. I kept an eye on it for ages but it just kept creeping up. The coolant started to boil/bubble and spurting out of the rad so I turned off the engine to investigate. At this point the obvious worry of the headgasket was on my mind, but I doubted this was the case as it took AGES to heat up..... it just didn't stop heating up. So I played and I played then I poked and I prodded and eventually I got impatient and just kept going with it, topping up over the top of the boiling lava spurting out of the top (hoping to dislodge an airlock). Eventually I had to give up when I noticed a bit of steam coming out the back of the head.

I got in contact with Chris Wilson who gave me a few ideas on what to check, many many thanks if you see this Chris, you really set my mind at ease...... so stripped the cam covers all back, removed all the hoses, etc, to see if I could spot anything wrong. Everything looked OK but the hose clamps were a little tired. At this point I threw in the towel, covered the engine with a bit of plastic wrap and headed inside wondering what to do. I contacted Ryan (massive thanks to him for his continued support too) to see if he could think of anything, again it all pointed to an airlock and the hoses at the back.

So I eventually bit the bullet this week and went out and got it all back together. I topped up the coolant and I did one thing that I forgot to do the last time..... turn the heater on full. This time, everything went flawlessly, it idled with a steady 92 degree temperature (after a long time) and everything went great, small video added showing this. The AFRs were still VERY lean (reaching 20) at idle though. A few blips of the throttle saw them drop into normal territory, so that is being addressed at the moment.

There is still a bit of confusion over what is going on with the car, airlocks or whatever, as when I turn the heating off the temps creep up again. I'm going to drain out the coolant, double check the orientation of the thermostat and see what that does. I'm also tweaking the map, at Ryans request, to add a little fuel at the idle (this will be done today). If I can get the AFR's looking OK at idle, then that rules out any potential over-heating from the temperature of the engine (Idle EGT's are around 550degC).

I'm not quite out of the woods yet, but thanks to this forum and it's members/traders I'm a lot more positive than I was the other side of Christmas :D
