Geo
the problem is, its not possible to send it as a gift. We have here in germany three options: ebay, wares or services. On the paypal-page you may get the charges. Sorry. Would you please so kind to check your fees. He cant send as a gift dude. 4% rings a bell? scotty71
4% but Im sure paypal would be the same as ours unless its for an ebay item... Eg, it has Send money has a purchase/personal tabs, purchase for the options he states, and the personal tab has :This money is being sent as a:Gift : Household expense :Personal payment owed: Other then the sender foots the charge

scotty71
I cant imagine you can not send funds as a gift in Germany and just as purchases...
Harry Sachs
If the buyer send the money as a gift or payment owed though, is he then not up sh!t creek should a problem arrise with postage etc? I might be off though. Be easier to just ask him to cover the 4% IMHO

I've made that mistake when a wheelset randomly went missing. Although if Geo sent it via recorded delivery and gets it insured both should be fine. Have a look at the link I posted mate, 3.4% + €0.35 EUR to receive money from him provided it's below £1500, less % if it's higher
