hp006
I am an advanced driver with 7 yrs NCB and the supra is my second vehicle. The insurance has gone from 368 to 488. This is with Adrian Flux, they say there usual broker is not with them any more hence the rise. I dont see this as my problem. I have an extra yrs NC and a yr older. Why should the cost go up this much?? I then ring admiral and ask them for a quote. They say we cant quote cause its not the original engine (replace na for uk tt). I say but the engine in there was replaced with a toyota engine that comes off the production line for the supra. Why do these people make it so hard?? Abz
I had the same, another years NCB (9 years) and still went up. You need to shop around now, no such thing as loyalty these days.
jagman
All insurances went up last year , an average of 38% across the board , the over 50 drivers more % wise . Why? because they can , and why older drivers ? Probably the younger drivers are proper skint by now have been bent over for a number of years
Josh
Admiral quoted me £100 more than last year for my Golf. They quoted me £900 when last year it was about £810. I called them and got a multicar quote for £60 for 2 months (that's till the end of the multicar) which works out at half what they quoted me on the renewal

Except the main reason is the amount of people claiming personal injury settlements. For every £100 the average insurer takes in premiums it pays out £120 in personal injury claims. hp006
but surely this excess of claims should be put against those that have caused the accident. Not those that have been careful drivers

Paul
I recently renewed my L200 Insurance and they wanted another £35 more than last year, quick phone call and knocked £30 off that. So hearing all this about increases leaves me chuffed I'm only paying a fiver more. Edit: That's also with Adrian Flux

Abz
They should just limit the PI claims to if you loose your leg or hands, I read in the papers that people would have a 5mph crash and then claim on all the occupants having whiplish which meant the insurance paid out £2k each passenger

The (female) driver and (male) passenger were foreign (not that it matters). They were both fine at the scene but then it took about 6 months to sort the insurance out because they both claimed to have whiplash. They hit her as they pulled away from the side of the road, I reckon they were doing 5mph tops. The b@st@rds!

hp006
Think we should claim to cover the extra that they want, then see how well the system works when the government forces us to have insurance but we cant afford so there will be no cars thus no money for government Dont get me wrong i dont think paying 468 for the insurance is bad for what the car is. I just dont think it should be more than before:Pling:
