ulysees
Just wondering what my car should be idling at? Its at 1200rpm at the moment, is that high? it seems to be
Homer
When warm it should be 650-850rpm When cold it can be up to 1800rpm, depending on the exterior temp. Does the car have a standard ECU? Any signal fudgers installed? Does it ever drop below 1200rpm? If not then I'd look towards a sticky idle control valve. Easily fixed. Swampy442
If all else fails maybe somebody has manually adjusted the idle stop on the throttle body.
ulysees
Ok i took icv off and cleaned it and noticed two of the wires werent pushed all the way in the connector block so i pushed them all the way in and now it idles too low lol. I set the TPS to the central position, i tried it all the way to the left and all the way to the right but it still idles too low, almost cutting out.
