marc_p
I know this will have been asked on here before but when I did a search it just came up with an immense amount of unrelated threads and I couldn't see anything. Anyway, my question is, how could you make a 2JZ powered Supra 4WD, I personally have know intentions of ever wanting to do it, but it was more out of curiosity on how you could do it, I assume it would need a Skyline style setup as that has a longitudinal(sp?) engine, but I don't know how that works either TBH, Would it be possibe to do it on the Getrag box aswell? dr_jekyll
2jz with custom bell housing mated to r33gtr running gear maybe a good way
Scott
I was curious how they did it when I saw that car previously. as anyone heard anything about that car? Seemed to all go quiet, as if it didn't work Short prop to transfer box, transfer box to rear diff, transfer box to front diff? Something like this I would imagine. j_jza80
The R34 skyline uses a variation of the Getrag box found in the Supra (apparently) t That may aid a conversion.
Stephen G
here is a vid of a gtr skyline with a 2jz so you would think it might be possible to put the skyline front drivetrain setup into a supra
Lude
maybe use the GT4 setup/parts, lots of custom work so it fits the the 2J instead of 3SGTE
bradleyh_15
Some guy on supra forums made his supra 4 wheel drive! I'm sure someone will come up with the link soon!
RobD
I was under the impression that the skyline gtr's front part of the transmission enters the engines sump? So I can't see how that would be used! Did they make an aristo 4wd v8 edition? Perhaps use the drivetrain etc from that?! EDIT: they do a v8 aristo using the 1uz, so no doubt you could use the transmission from that! Konrad
I can't find it now, but there is Supra in Poland with 4WD from some american car, other than that it is 2JZ single turbo engine.
dangerous brain
Simples stick the 4wd gearbox, drive train and engine in from an aristo. The V8 aristo comes with a 4WD box. Its not a huge power capable box but its 4WD and will drop straight in.
Swampy442
As above, 4WD gearbox and sump etc from a V8 Aristo.
wile e coyote
Buy this and swap engine and gearbox and running gear http://www.terra2imports.ca/import-japan120863128586452.htm
Guest Edd1Ninety9
So does that mean you'd be restricted to automatic transmission?
Gaz6002
Am I the only one who wouldn't want a 4WD Supra?
Scott
Am I the only one who wouldn't want a 4WD Supra? I'm the same, well sort of. I would love a 4wd Supra for a purpose (time attack or something like that), but I would always want a standard drivetrain one for general fun use

dangerous brain
So does that mean you'd be restricted to automatic transmission? Yeesh you boys want everything lol Or for the snow Yeah, good shout lol. Fella's, fella's, fella's you don't need 4wd for snow, my aristo performed as well as any 4wd in the snow because I put proper winter/snow tyres on. Makes the world of difference. Push snow mode button to lock out first gear and kickdown floor it and let the TC do its job!!
j_jza80
I wouldn't be a Supra owner if they were 4wd
Kirk
Am I the only one who wouldn't want a 4WD Supra? Not at all mate. A 4WD supra is heresy! With a well set up chassis they can be just as quick as any 4WD round the track!
