what's wrong with insurance companies these days !!!!

I insured our corsa in dec when i bought it paid full year in advance,

today I get a letter they are cancelling our insurance, so i ring them to ask why.

I was told that the no claims bonus I was using is being used on another vehicle,I explain that it is not and had to phone my old insurance company to confirm who agreed its not being used, so I ring up new insurance company who now say that it is cancelled because I did not declare a claim made in march 08, which I knew nothing of,

so i ring up my old insurance company to find out whats this claim is all about they have no record of a claim im march 08,

so I have to ring new insurance company again who disbelieves me and says I need proof that I never made a claim,

so I ring old insurance company to see if they can confirm in writing my driving record to which im told no only over the phone they will not put anything in writing,

so I ring new insurance company to give them a record of all the old insurance company's data about me verbally and say that the old company are willing to confirm this via a phone call, im put on hold as the two companies talk to each other,

ok all amended they say dont worry your policy wont be cancelled,

I ask for this to be confirmed in writing which at first they tell me theres no need to until I insist.

so after !hour 45 mins of joint phone calls it sorted hopfully

And the best part both insurance companies have the same address and im sure i spoke to the same person twice once as old company and once as new company!!!!!!

Admiral sent me a renewal letter offering me a year's cover on my Golf for £900. I called them and asked to put the Golf on the multicar with my Mum, Sister and the Supra.

For cover from 12th January to 3rd March it cost me £55.

How can they offer me a year for £900 when I can get it for just over £300 when I called them...

I guess they hope people will just forget and the insurance will start again at nearly 3 times the price they could get it for.

No its not Admiral and Elephant but they surly cant be any worse!

I spoke to the Canadian offices of Admiral when I changed my Golf over. The guy asked me if I wanted a hire car and I said "no". He then put me on hold for 10 mins, came back and asked me again if I want a hire car. Again I said "no". He then put me on hold again for 10 minutes then came back and pretty much demanded I take the hire car. It was so hard to tell him "NO!!!".

It's not the Golf that's coming down in Price, it's the Supra aswell. When you add the Golf to your Multi Car policy it automatically reduces the Supra's and the Golf's premium by 25%, I have 4 Cars on my multicar policy so the Supra's have both had 25% taken off them 3 times, which results in quite a good premium :)

But the multicar is only supposed to take off about 25%. This has come down by like 66% from the renewal price they quoted me.

Not that I'm complaining :p

Yes but how much is the Supra to insure as they will have also taken 25% off that so what you pay incorporates the discount from the Supra.

For instance, when I put my dad's MX5 on my policy it only cost £15, not because the MX5 was £15 to insure but because a large chunk of money was taken off the Supra.

The Supra is costing me £940 on the multicar and was added last Saturday. The £50 for the Golf is just for the Golf for 2 months. Weird :D

I also got a discount of like £6 off each car on there all ready on top of the £55.

Before the discount the Golf was going to be £66 so that's still only £400 a month so it's half of what the renewal price is with only a 23% discount. Pretty good, eh?

Oh and when I sell the Golf I can add the 3 years NCB I have to the Supra so the price will come down more! Woo hoo!

I've been using The Policy Shop (Highway) for 3 years now and my Toyota Supra MkIV 1993 Japanese import non-Turbo 3rd party Fire&Theft gives a permium of les than £400.

Its not a renewal price its a cock up with my no claims i paid a full yr in advance then they wouldn't except my no claims then they said they would and it was all sorted!!

Insurance companies are a bunch of goons. They don't seem to know what they're doing at all.
