ROCKETMAN
Hi all. After a couple of years away I am considering another Supe (owned 3 in the past). I quite like Chris and Alanas silver car advertised on the forum but also wondered if anyone knows this car?: http://pistonheads.com/sales/2395083.htm I am considering buying something with mods which have been done properly as I will only go down the normal route of paying for them all myself! Want a clean tidy example as I am mega fussy. Any opinions on the car above would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and good to see still such a great crowd still on the forum Edited January 14, 2011 by ROCKETMAN spelling! Lude
wow 428 BHP is impressive BPU there, says has the dyno print too, looks a clean car also. shame its an auto (for me) but impressive figures gota be the highest ive seen on stock twins/BPU
monsween
That figure is probably with a wrong correction factor. Never the less its a very nice clean car.
ROCKETMAN
My last Supra was an auto and although I prefer manual once used to it I really enjoyed it. Lot nicer driving in built up areas/traffic and no clutch worries! By the Monsween-nice car you have there (best colour!) Are you in Aberdeen? ROCKETMAN
I should have also added I don't get too hung up on power figures. Anything over 300bhp is good, more concerned with power delivery and if it drives well. Thanks for the quick replies up to now. Do you think it is a good buy from what you can see? Do also like the silver one I mentioned above from one of the forum members.
Matt H
428hp is not a totally outlandish claim. My BPU made 410 on what was considered a decent dyno conversion.
monsween
Yea Rocketman, im up in Aberdeen. Personally i'd be chomping at the bit to go have a look at the car if i was in for one. Even the facelift lights that are spare are worth 300ish on here to sell on after the car so just remember that too

I agree with you that its not totally outlandish. The dyno may have been on a shoot-out type thing that can give better numbers rather than true numbers is all im suggesting. The number could very well be true and good.

If so I'll chase it up. Seller has not put a number on his ad. Was hoping I might have found him on here!? Just waiting for someone to start the great 'spoiler/no spoiler' conversation LOL. Never seen your car in town or I would have clocked it right away!
Nic
If it's running stock turbos, stock cams and stock ECU at 1.1bar it won't be making 428hp, I would guess more like 380-400hp. It has a Whifbitz FMIC fitted so Paul may know the car, seems tidy might be worth a look.

I live in the centre of town too We're always having meets of some sort and its not supra specific so come along in whatever you have now. They are usually organized through this page below http://www.facebook.com/pages/Team-Beard/157593177599341?ref=ts There is already 2 spoilerless black cars in Aberdeen. MarcAB10 has one of them and its a beaut
ROCKETMAN
The car is in Salisbury. Anyone know of any decent tecnicians or Supra heads in the area who could cast an experienced eye over it. I'm okay with all the basics but no mechanic and would be far happier if an adult gave me an expert opinion, especially on a modded motor. I am pretty keen on it. Oh, and I would certainly pay for a good inspection!
