Is this thread for real? There is an actual rat in your Renaut? I mean, a real rat? ...

Or mouse, and yes. This is very real.

While im at it i might as well deal death to the rest of its kin in the stable block and barn. Failing that i will get the local council in, they gased the last lot that lived under the stable.

Good luck they are deffinatly rats, try the humane rat cages by big cheese. Use peanut butter to trap them and that way you will know if it is a mouse or rat.

Don't see the point of a humane trap. I run a marina so put some around work. I was visited by the council (just by chance) who asked if we had seen any rats. When we walked around the premises, one of the traps did actually have a rat in it. The council guy asked what I was going to do with it. I didn't want to say @I'm going to drown the verminous sod in the canal', so thinking I was saying the right thing, I said I would release it in a field where he could live happily until eaten by a buzzard or hawk.

The bloke just looked at me and said 'You better drown the little shit in the canal. It's an offence to release vermin once it's been trapped.'

I shot it point blank with an air rifle in the end. I felt like Al Pacino.

Do the planks of wood with glue idea then when you go out in the morning, you get the satisfaction of stomping on them all.
