Peter P
Hi Guys, Rob Mitchell and I were working on my car last night and found the autobox dipstick was cable tied to a pipe!! I'm obviously looking to get it relocated to where it should be and wondered if anyone could do me a picture of where this bolts to on the inlet manifold?? We did find a space for a 10mm nut but the bracket on my dipstick must be bent out of shape as it doesn't line up!! Saying that, when I tried moving it around a bit I noticed it doesn't stay in the hole underneath if I pull it up into position. Hopefully a photo would confirm where it needs to go and also whether mine can be bent into shape or if I need a new one!! All help greatly appreciated chaps! :d Pete
Terminator
If it is a standard dip stick tube, you should be able to carefully straighten it out a bit to get the proper height. Make sure you clean around the fixing hole in the sump as the chances are it is covered in fine grit down there.

I did try straightening it out but it still looks too low for where I think it is meant to bolt to on the intake manifold. If someone would be kind enough to photo this area for me, I could see where it should go and take it from there?
