Kilps
Whilst scrabbling around under the Supra earlier, I came across this: I'm sure this has a home, which isn't "cable tied to the subframe"! Looks like a sensor to me... what is it and where should it be?? Edit: What's this one too? The one with the blue cable coming from it. Thorin
Easy, it lives in West Sussex. Cat temp sensor?
Kilps
Easy, it lives in West Sussex. Cat temp sensor? Very good! That would explain why it's not attached to anything, seeing as mine is decat.
Awisto
The tied up one is the cat temp sensor, the other one is an O2 sensor.
Kilps
The tied up one is the cat temp sensor, the other one is an O2 sensor. I thought the second one was an O2 Sensor Thank you again!
nevins
You have 2 o2 sensors (lambda) and one cat temp fitted on a mkiv fella.
Matt H
Could it have been removed because of a de-cat?
Kilps
I thought there were two O2 Sensors... the second one is further back than the cats (or where the cats would be) is it not?

That's what I thought Is it likely to be making anything else do funny things because it thinks the cat is stone cold (because it's sensing outside air temperature)? Awisto
You have 2 o2 sensors (lambda) and one cat temp fitted on a mkiv fella. On a TT?
Swampy442
Just the one on a TT
Chris Wilson
UK / US spec TT's have two oxygen sensors, J-Spec TT's have one. N/A's have two.

Awisto
That's what I was getting at, it's a J-Spec due to the cat temp probe, so only got the one. (this is where I fail as never seen a UK spec with one, but no doubt will be proved wrong )
Kilps
That's what I thought Is it likely to be making anything else do funny things because it thinks the cat is stone cold (because it's sensing outside air temperature)? The sensor in the cat is a temperature sensor for the cat overheating warning light on the dash... the temp sensor can just be cable tied out of the way, it has no effect on performance. Ah, that answers that then (found in this thread).
