Wez
Hey Guys, I am looking at replacing all the standard little black hoses on my J-Spec TT6 with silicon. What size are they are how much do i need to buy, I want to replace all the hoses that control the boost and turbos. I also bought a HKS EVC IV off a friend but haven`t got any of the hosing with it, I got the filters though. Would the same stuff be ok to fit this aswell. Regards Wez PS Does the HKS EVC display the Boost presure in the digi readout?
Terminator
Silicon hose are slippery by nature, so will require clips on all unions unlike the existing hoses. Some existing hoses are reinforced, silicon will not ne so take care. JMHO
Wez
Thanks Do other people have a problem where if they boot it when u are already above 4000 revs that it sometimes doesn`t seem to throw u in your seat like it should. Is this normal or could i have a small intermitant leak somewhere? Regards Wez

a98pmalcolm
i replaced 99% of mine, for what i remember u will need LOADS of 6mm....but 3mm, 5mm and 7mm were used aswell mate. (for what i remeber) Get a couple of metres of each then u will need more of a curtain size, the stuff is dead cheap pal. This is the out come of mine: From this: To This: (there is a few extra chrome bits aswell but u get the idea of the blue pipes lol)

SimonT
BTW, to others: silicon hoses = bad Is this true even for the main turbo and intercooler pipes or just the little ones??
TLicense
Especially for the main turbo and intercooler hoses. Silicon = slippy. Not a property you want on a component you want to hold rigidly in place, but lets face it, it's not going to be the end of the world and plenty of people have used them. The other point on the vacuum hoses is that as was said a long time ago, the silicon hoses don't have any strength under vacuum so just collapse, which is again bad.
