RedM Posted June 20, 2005 Share Posted June 20, 2005 Sorry for the rant but I'm still pissed at the way some people drive. Like tonight. Coming home, I approached a set of lights. Two lanes. Left hand lane has two cars already stopped. I figure I'll go down the right and maybe get past them if I catch the lights right. Lights change just as I get there and first car in left hand lane flies out of there. No problem I thought I'll just wait until I have room over the second car and pull in behind the first. The road on the other side of the lights gradually merges into the left and becomes a single lane again. So, I'm getting ready to move across, leaving plenty of room before the merge, I'm a good few lengths up on the car that was second at the lights. I signal, look over my shoulder just to make sure I'm clear (I was at the time of signalling) and stone me but the other driver is belting up on my inside, trying to undertake me. Should mention it was a blue Golf VR6 thingy. The road is getting close to merging and I figure I'm in the right. He shouldn't undertake me especially as I'm already doing 30 and he'd have to go some to do it. Road starts to merge and I now have oncoming traffic a tad too close to my right. I decide to carry on, gently moving to the left, still signalling and still leaving the wanker with plenty of room. I guess he bottled it because next thing I know is he is behind me flashing his lights and showing me he can count to two! I carry on and with a final flourish, showing me the correct hand grip for masturbation, he turns off down a cul-de-sac, possibly he lives down there. If he does, then was it worth almost causing an accident just to get those last few yards home? I think not. What a prat. Rant over. Thanks for reading. You get the same shit any time you try and overtake anyone these days. I have yet to come across a driver that doesn't speed up when they see you go to overtake them. Its come to the stage now where I no longer signal my intentions as that gives people too much time to be knobs and get in the way just out of bloody mindedness. Kopite Posted June 20, 2005 Share Posted June 20, 2005 lots of that shit goin on now....what was puzzlin me before was i was gettin my weekly fill of optimax ( ) and as i was walkin to my door, a young lady drove past to the pump in front. i was busy eyin her up until i realised she hadnt left me enough room to get out. then she thought she'd pull a bit closer to the bump. drove forward a bit, put it in reverse and turned towards the pump... accelerates sharply.... smack into the pump!!!!! Do they not realise that something that large is pretty intimidating to anyone in a normal car? Mind you, had one blast up behind me a few days back. He pulled out and floored it, straight into a speed camera trap. I gave him the thumbs up at the next lights while laughing like a loon. She goes through on green, the lights start to change and I follow through on Amber. She pulls into a parking area at the side of the road after braking sharply then indicating. After which she gestures the single digit. Being a little incensed after a relaxing drive home, I pull over and walk over to her car asking her what her problem is? " you were up my arse at the lights you wanker" is her reply. I now starting to feel a little angry, politely tell her that if I was "up her arse" she would have felt it, and did she know the highway code, it states Mirror, SIGNAL, manouver (spelling mistake ?) so what does she expect when she slams brakes on the pulls into a lay by at side of road without the signal, she gestures to me to fuck off and that I am a wanker, I just laugh amd say, at least I know this but know how to drive and walk away laughing at the stupid bitch... Some drivers are complete idiots and I wonder if the remember what they are supposed to do after they have got their full license. Moral here :- Fuck em, don't let the tossers grind you down. Elliot Posted June 20, 2005 Share Posted June 20, 2005 I'm irate about some of the morons on the road. My daily favourite is... I live on the A32, and it's quite busy getting out of the drive. I pull out really slowly so I can see the road (fences either side). Although it's a 40, it's normally quite busy so traffic crawls past. I've sat there before for around 5 minutes as people go past - just staring at you trying to get out. They approach slowly, and when they see you edging out slowly they speed up!! The amount of times I've sat there while someone floors it, then slams their brakes on right in front of me to stop from going into the car in front. Of course, they're blocking me from going anywhere, but hey - they haven't lost THEIR space. A lot of them turn their head sideways to look like they've achieved something, or they're totally oblivious to the fact their f*ck*ng pr*cks This happens every day. BTW - I know what you mean about merging (ie one car from each lane merging 1,2,1,2 etc, keeping it smooth) the amount of times I've done it right, indicating, leaving plenty of time and space & some pleb has floored it almost into the back of the car in front just to not let you in. When someone does something like this DON'T give them the finger, it's just an expression of anger - clap your hands together as if to say "well done - you are indeed a twat & can't drive for shit" it's much more patronising & even makes me laugh when you see them sitting there knowing what a fool they've been. If I get a pushy BMW up my arse I deliberately stay in the r/h lane on the speed limit until just before it, then pull over.
