Abz
Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy! Took me 3 days to get over it and yesterday and today I just have a fever which seems to go up and down, headache has calmed down now too but honestly it is the worst I have felt in my whole life. I didn't sleep for 3 nights, the first night was one of the worst, whole body was aching and my head felt like it was going to burst from either sides of the temple. My body was on fire, but not all of it like the legs were on fire but my arms were cold. 2nd day the aching calmed down, and it was on when I visited the doctors on emergency. Waited 45 minutes at the doctors and everyone was just staring at me! I couldn't walk, couldn't talk hardly, my face looked like it was falling off and I was having difficulty to breathe. The doctor, she spent quite some time on me, checking me over for a while, then called the local chemist and advised she had a patient with quite a bad case of Swine Flu. Gave me Tamiflu & advised that as I am young & healthy I should be able to fight it off, just will be quite difficult. Though advised if the breathing got more difficult then to go straight to A&E. The Tamiflu make me even more sick! Headache went up & it was almost unbearable, I really felt like reliving the area of pressure by slitting a small cut, apparently wife said I was saying some weird things (nothing changed there then). I was being more and more sick, so I just stuck to two paracetamols every 4 hours. 5th day and I am feeling a lot better, but still feeling pretty weak, was nice to have a good full meal after nearly 3 days of not eating. I have only posted this as I rarely catch a flu, and during weather like this I am normally out playing football or pretty active. It is just unbearable to think how someone older or a baby could deal with something like this?!?! - I quarantined myself and all guests stayed downstairs, think I might work from home on Monday as it is still lingering. Now, I know the media are causing a frenzy as usual, but the vulnerable are still at risk. If you got old parents or grandparents or any family members with underlying health issues, you should get them vaccinated as a pre-caution. Sorry for the long post, and stay well

Purity14
Dude, I am in bed with this atm. Fever, migrane, sore throat, chest pains, stomache pains, vomiting, dissyness, nausia, fatigued, stiff neck and left leg in excruciating pain!! (Can hardly walk on it) Tonsils have craters 2mm deep (like the moons surface) that have begun to bleed, then I get hard black scabs that heal in my sleep, that stop me from breathing. I havent eaten anything since the 4th of Jan, as it just comes back up. Went to hospital and was put on an IV bloodtests ran, and they said "you MAY or MAY NOT have swineflu" I just have to ride it out, but im getting pretty fecking hungry. Attero
Scary stuff. Is it just the winter that has bought in more swine flu cases? There have been 6 or more cases found on the island, and it's a pretty close community here.

You been lucky on that bit then, the flem is really annoying & when you cough, it feels like your brain is slamming against the back of your skull & your chest is about to spilt open! Morpheus
Just pulling your leg You can take the face mask off now I wear one at work all day so it's ok. I think I must have had it already though unless there's a much worse one about. I think it all depends on the individual's immune system. Fasting cleanses the blood anyway which is why you lose your appetite, so anyone who can't eat, try some juices instead. Carrots or anything that doesn't contain simple sugars. I'd avoid fruit personally as I don't digest fructose well atall. Either way, get plenty of liquids and keep warm.

Septic
Hope you two get better soon! It's odds that we've seen a resurgence of swine flu now. The timing of the discovery in the above link is somewhat odd too.
