mistertwo
I haven't bothered listening to it this week....I don't even remember that the Australian guy is called, but he made me irritated. And the play lists? Terrible. Been listening to Heart FM instead, as it was the only station playing some good music
RobSheffield
Even though im only 30, i listen to R2 more than Radio one now. Moyles is ok, but annoying for more than 5 mins, Fearne needs shooting in the face, Mills can be ok if the planets align, Zane is so full of his own self importance its embarrassing, and Westwood...lol! tomgeer
I stopped listening to radio 1 about 8 years ago, absolute sh*te
Charlotte
I've worked in places where we've had both Radio1 playing all day and Radio2. The difference is - radio1 has the same 10 'new' tracks on repeat throughout the day, radio2 has the same 10 'old' tracks on repeat. Every now and again I do like to tune in, often it's when I know one of the bands I like are on. I like Five Live and Radio 4 on occasion too. I can't stand newsbeat - it's like the daily mail of the radio world. Adverts on the radio drive me insane too. I'll just stick to finding music online and making my own compilations. Swampy442
Im with you Charlotte, adverts really do me in, and cant understand why so many stations play 80s tunes so much. The 80s wers crap in the 80s, not gonna get any beter with time... I used to really like Radio 6 but since George Lamb left its a bit flat. Charlotte
Ahh common, there are some cracking 80s tunes out there - just not necessarily the ones they play on the radio.
RedM
The 80s were brilliant for punk and hardcore music. The rest of it was rubbish though.
formatzero
I think they should have a station where d j's like moyles can go on and talk all day as they love the sound of there own voice, and put more music on radio 1.If you put radio 2 on at lunch time all you get is Jeremy Vine depressing you with more yack yack. Abz
could it be that music in general at the moment is crap? I rarely listen to the new stuff any more as its all about massaging ego's than singing/playing music. What like rappers talking about how rich & famous they are on their very first track? stevie_b
This is purely about personal taste. None of the stations/DJs have changed as far as I can tell (apart from Zane Lowe's stint on Radio 1's breakfast show, which was always going to be temporary). If you like Moyles' brand of chatter, you'll continue to like him. If not, you'll always find him an arrogant loud-mouthed fool. My personal taste is thus: I like Chris Moyles' mix of a lot of chatter with a little bit of music. Light-hearted. No adverts for conservatories or car dealerships. No fake sympathy from the DJ. Offensive to those who enjoy being offended. He plays so little music that the quality of current music doesn't have as much effect on his show as other shows. Happy days. I can't comment much on the rest of Radio 1 because I rarely listen to any other DJs on it. Maybe they have changed their programme styles, although I doubt it. Have Fearne Cotton, Scott Mills et al changed their shows much recently?
Thorin
Radio 1 breakfast slot was good last week, listening to Slipknot, Anthrax, and QOTSA on the way to work made a nice change. Moyles back now though.
