peter richards
is there any way to tell if the clutch is on its way ? its not slipping but biting point is quite high . thanks peter
nevins
Just had to do one on sams car mate. High bite point and it was starting to jump out of gear where it was not engaging fully. They have a hydraulic clutch on them. Sam's is a mk1 on a 98 with the 1.8 zetec in it, same as the escort really. If its the mk2 focus that means indicators in the headlights it will have a dual mass flywheel and they are a nightmare and a fortune to buy the clutch kit. Graham S
Gonna sound weird here but check your brake fluid level... It's really common for the hydraulics in the clutch pedal to fail.. Stick your head under the dash and look at the clutch pedal right up at the top if its damp in any way thats your problem! Done bloody hundreds of them... Easy-ish to replace, and think no more than £100 if I rememeber correctly.
