L18msy
My wife turns 30 in the beginning of February and i am having a mind blank on what to do for it. My original plan was to take her to New york as she has always wanted to go there. I had started to organise this ages ago but the plan changed when she fell pregnant and knew she couldn't go and leave the little one when she came along. The next plan was to take her to London as again she has always wanted to visit the place. I had sort of arranged a babysitter so we could go for a weekend, but the other day we were talking about going away ( she doesn't know where!) and she said she would like the little one to come along as well. Now i am thinking a trip to London for my 8 month old daughter would be too much for her. So i have hit a blank. For my 30th she organised a surprise party so i dont want to do that for her as i think she is expecting that. I have looked at log cabins etc but feel that aint special enough and i need something for her to remember. I have been racking my brains for something special that isn't too far a jaunt from me (dont mind driving for a few hours) and can also take the little 'un without being too much for her. Sorry for the headache scenario just needing a bit of help from the supra family:)
Josh
Skiing holiday if you/she like that sort of thing. Log cabin, bottle of wine and some lovin' on the night in front of a log fire then skiing in the daytime with some cold beers at the bottom.. RobD
Take her abroad, if it's not a long flight ( Paris, Amsterdam etc) then your little one should be fine!

Charlotte
Portmeirion is lovely and pretty child friendly if you get a village suite. Is there any way someone could watch your little one so you could have a proper break? I got taken to Rome for my 30th - was quite possibly the best holiday I've been on. johnny g
A nice weekend in Rome or Barcelona for all of you. Flight isn't too long at all and the weather will be better than Scotland If you don't mind the cold, Oslo is glorious in winter.

mwilkinson
I'm with Charlotte and Johnny g on this one. Barcelona is beautiful as is Rome. They are perfect short stay city break destinations. For total impact I would rate Rome above Barcelona but only by a very small amount. Regardless of your wife's comments I doubt she would be too upset if you arranged for family or a professional child minder to look after the nipper whilst you whisked her of for a long weekend abroad!! At least this way you cud enjoy the sights and have a few drinks and have a small break from being Mum and Dad. Everyone loves their children but that does not mean having a break now and again isn't nice.

AlliRR
I threw my missus a party at the Dumbuck (so that her/my nieces & nephews etc could go since she has a close family) then away for a long weekend at a health spa away from everyone. I enjoyed it! plus I gave her some of the usual sh!t like jewellery and so on....
L18msy
Think the Dumbuck is out of action just now lol. She has loads of jewellery, she is a magpie and likes shiny things. I have been looking into castles/hotel sort of thing. Im usually good at these things and come up with good ideas but my head is broken.
