Braided brake lines, cleaning up my engine bay again

Hi guys

My engine bay is starting to look a little untidy and crammed at the back now everything is in, so I think I'm in need of another clean up.

There's a few bits I want to move or re-fashion starting with the brake lines. At present I'm just gathering info on what's required.

Basically I want to replace all my brake lines from master cylinder to calipers with braided lines, relocating them out of sight as I go.

My questions are:-

1) what size thread are the fittings into the master cylinder 1/8 NPT ????

2) I'll be using -3AN line and fittings. I'll use PTFE braided hose, is this sufficient as my braided brake lines on the car already have a coating over the braid, what is the reason for the coating, is it just to repell heat from the brakes themselves.

Thanks

John

I think the thread is M10x1.00

-3 lines would be the correct size. I would use goodridge hose, the coating stops the hose from chaffing through things. Bare braided hose can be abbrasive when its tied in place against things.
