hodge
Hi guys My engine bay is starting to look a little untidy and crammed at the back now everything is in, so I think I'm in need of another clean up. There's a few bits I want to move or re-fashion starting with the brake lines. At present I'm just gathering info on what's required. Basically I want to replace all my brake lines from master cylinder to calipers with braided lines, relocating them out of sight as I go. My questions are:- 1) what size thread are the fittings into the master cylinder 1/8 NPT ???? 2) I'll be using -3AN line and fittings. I'll use PTFE braided hose, is this sufficient as my braided brake lines on the car already have a coating over the braid, what is the reason for the coating, is it just to repell heat from the brakes themselves. Thanks John
Guest Soarer Tim
I think the thread is M10x1.00 -3 lines would be the correct size. I would use goodridge hose, the coating stops the hose from chaffing through things. Bare braided hose can be abbrasive when its tied in place against things. hodge
Rubbing won't be an issue really as the braid will be mostly out of sight. Cheers for the help mate. Much appreciated.
