Branners
And just to check, that is £76 return? The train back is a touch early in the day, would have preferred a 17:00 sailing as it is in French time so we arrive back in england at 3pm if we take the 2.50pm out of Calais. But I think that might be one to go with. I would personally contact SeaFrance and P&O ferries and ask how much a group booking would be with them just to make sure we dont have any other options. I know most of us wouldnt get on a ferry due to being too low, but worth seeing what the price difference is. Chris, any news on the hotel? Unless of course you buy a single

pistonbroke
Is there anyway we can verify parking at the stopover points. ? I'm a stickler when it comes to parking the supra anywhere. So secure parking, prefferably covered would be a huge bonus and piece of mind. Oh, and car wash facilities would also be nice, can't have the supe looking minging when we're acting as UK supe ambassadors Edited January 5, 2011 by pistonbroke (see edit history)

We are almost a definite for this if it goes ahead, just sorting out holidays and child care..!! H.

I doubt people will want to pay out £300+ for hotel accomodation. Im sure Chris will find what he can and if it does not have covered parking you may need to find an alternative hotel I'm afraid. I've just Google Map'd a quick sample route to gauge peoples thoughts, based on what Branners said before. Calais - Lille Lille to Boulogne-sur-Mer Boulogne-sur-Mer back to Lille Lille to Kortrijk (a quaint village by the old WWI battle fields) Kortrijk back to Calais Link here Works out around 310 miles or thereabouts by excluding motorways and toll roads Also found this article on P&O Ferry site about driving in northern France. There's the info

Yes, that's £76 return, I can ask about the later trains, but I'll probably duck out and go early to be honest, I've got 300 miles AFTER I get off the train. I don't mind paying a standard fare on the train.

If you can check with Seafrance or P&O or let me know and I will get in touch with them for a comparison price.

Abz
Ok, covered is taking the pee, but secure parking must be available surely? Some places do have underground parking, we stayed in an Ibis and it had underground parking! Though what he failed to mention was that the decline was so steep, unless you don't have a front bumper it will scrap! Though the gentlemen was kind enough to give me some wood... to use as ramps!
