Rob_Mitchell
Been a sad few days at the garage little memories and flash backs i got when stripping the bay out Anyway everything apart from the engine, gearbox and exhaust is removed, planned out roughly what/where im re-locating things. Every hole will be plated up and every unwanted bolt hole wil be welded, ill then smooth the engine bay and get it ready for paint .. It has seen its place but i said be patient ** yes i do talk to my engine**

hodge
Are you going to test fit the engine and work out what holes you need before you start filling them.
sdistc
Are you going to cut and weld the stock bulges in the engine bay? I know you said "smooth", but people's definitions do differ
Rob_Mitchell
Are you going to test fit the engine and work out what holes you need before you start filling them. Nope im just going for it and doing every hole, ill deal with new holes when the time comes Are you going to cut and weld the stock bulges in the engine bay? I know you said "smooth", but people's definitions do differ not sure i doubt ill go that mad if im honest. just lose the holes ect and a nice fresh coat of paint will do wonders

hodge
Good choice Rob. Pleased your going with Orange. Anything else would just be wrong.
Rob_Mitchell
Good choice Rob. Pleased your going with Orange. Anything else would just be wrong. To be honest it was a hard decision but it will be a 'FULL RESPRAY' now. Im just hoping it wont make it look cluttered and take eyes away from the engine, even though there wont be much visible elsewhere.
ripped_fear
glad you are going for orange imo definitely the right decision it will look great.
Rob_Mitchell
glad you are going for orange imo definitely the right decision it will look great. hope so mate. Ill start welding tomorrow, i was even thinking today that i might braze the holes up too as it would be neat. Dont really matter how i fill the holes as its going to have a skim of filler and high build primer over it all anyway. cant wait........ Rob_Mitchell
Got the nearside all welded and plated up, just got to grinde down a few more welds and thats that taken care of. Then Lee is going to email me tonight the greddy intercooler template so i can get the hole cut in, then a skim of filler and primer will hopefully give me the look im after. Never realised just how much work is involved in this, been on it flat out all morning and thats just one side.
Rob_Mitchell
Made a really tidy plate up to use as my air con delete, excuse the red and chrome bolt there only in there till its painted then ill put some gold ones in there. once its in primer im going to wipe sikaflex around the plate to smooth it in nice, job done. The other side is nearly all welded up now, really got cracking on this today. My pictures dont do my work any justice
