Rob_Mitchell
Finally found some time to cut the hole out inside the bay! god it was a little mission , got there in the end though. I need to sort the other side out behind the arch liner, as this will make the join of the trimming neater but here are some pics. I made up the chrome trimming myself to line the hole and also done the intake side again so it matches

Rob_Mitchell
I like them alot Have you though about doing the cam covers gold? cheers, i wouldnt want to do cam covers as my plastic covers are gold and will be too much in one place. I have been tempted by greddy plenum though but it would cost me a fortune to plate

Rob_Mitchell
Love those top mount rings in gold! How much would that playing be for the pair mate!? Looking about £110.00 for the pair mate as they need to be either chromed or nickle plated first. Radiator clamps are £85.
Westy
Wow! I have a new appreciation for how much cash has been ploughed into your bay! They do look awesome though!
Rob_Mitchell
Wow! I have a new appreciation for how much cash has been ploughed into your bay! They do look awesome though! Not cheap mate, i plate iphone backings for £90.00. A litre of 'proper' 24ct solution costs me £500.00. I would hate to add it all up as i enjoy what i do, despite what people may say about it all. My HKS heat sheild must be the most exspensive items under the bonnet when they are fitted.
Rob_Mitchell
Just paid for a stainless steel top water pipe off John (hodgestar). When it arrives ill give it a decent mirror polish and then attack it with 24ct gold . Atleast my weep of water will be cured now fingers crossed. As long as you are happy with the outcome and enjoy it that's all that matters. To be honest IMO if we were all worried about cost effectiveness nobody would want one of these cars anyway let alone gold plating engine bay items, me saying I wouldn't do it is more that I could't afford to do it but I still think it looks great and makes it one of a kind. To summarise it's easier to be jealous as frankly that cost's nothing......... I say carry on and **** the negative comments.

Rob_Mitchell
Made a huge decision today and i 24ct gold plated my rare as rocking horse poo greddy oil cap, i also 24ct gold plated the blitz radiator cap. They have came out perfectly and im glad i done them now! Took care masking off the greddy cap sticker as that is stainless and gold would attach to it, i wanted it silver to add a bit of contrast.
