Hi and welcome!

I do hope it's nothing serious as well and I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of it and please don't take this the wrong way but before a Moderator says it, (although I think they've kinda given up now by the looks of it :D ), you might want to run diagnostics on your keyboard while you're at it, as the shift keys seem faulty. :)

Would be good to Capitalise on the opportunity. :D

i think i have found the problem! i have managed to download the engine reapir manual for the supra and found page "BE-61"

it says that the orange warning light should come on when the ignition is turned on and then go off when the engine is started,

when i put my ignition on the orange warning light does not come on at all, it only comes on when driving above a certain rev range(then stays on untill the car is switched off)

the manual says that the problem could be with the speedometer- my speedometer has stopped working so this hopefully is the problem!!

just thought i'd post that encase anyone else gets the same problem

When you switch ignition normally on, does your check enginel, oil press, oil level lights lid? Do you mean triangle on rpm meter or check engine on right side cluster meaning "orange warning light" ?

i`be had two supras with loose connection on that right side warning cluster, hard to see malfunction codes if the light wont work :D And nice to get these to work, oil pressure and oil level exspecially...

If your speedo wont work, atleast there is a code for it... you can see the code from check engine light

I think that went right over his head. Yet more text speak, and poor punctuation. Someone who can't be bothered.

Woohaa there newbie, people are trying to help you, I suggest you wind your neck in on the abuse.

To answer your question before you either get yourself banned, or this thread gets deleted. Your first problem is dry solder joints on the light display on the top right section of the dash, it's quite a common problem. Remove the top section of the dash cluster, 4 or 5 screws I think, unplug the multiplugs on either side. Then use a soldering iron to re-seat the solder joins on the small circuit boards. When plugged back in, you'll hopefully see that they now light up when the ignition is turned on.

Now re-run the diagnostics and check for codes.

Is that all it was? Sold that one now anyway. Will inform buyer. Cheers for that!

As for this being an exam, I have to carry a box of latex gloves around, the amount of times I've been fingered for being out of order! :D

I'm still learning that sometimes less is more, except sleep, of course. Night night!
